Iordered these purely because the colours looked gorgeous – sometimes that’s reason enough. When they arrived, I was pleased to find they’re just as pretty in real life, even though I’d slightly misunderstood the set. I initially thought it was four separate tints, but it’s actually three matte lip tints and one gloss. The gloss can be worn alone or layered over the tints to shift the tone and add shine, which is a nice touch. You can see the shades on me in the swatch photo. The first is one of those elusive “my lips but better” colours – perfect for work or a polished no-make-up look. The second is a little pinker and more defined, still very wearable and true to the idea of a nude essentials kit. The third is deeper with a red tone – darker than I’d usually choose these days, but genuinely flattering. And the gloss is lovely: it adds sparkle and a subtle golden warmth when layered, and works beautifully on its own. The only real downside for me is longevity. I’m used to a well known long-stay brand that genuinely lasts most of the day, and these don’t quite compete with that. They last a few hours before needing a top up – probably better than a traditional lipstick, but not in the all day category. To be fair, they don’t claim to be. That said, the colours are beautiful, the minis are compact and easy to pop in a bag, and at the current price you’re getting four for less than one of my usual brand. For the value and versatility, I think they’re excellent and I’d happily try other shades in the range.

Lip stains, they are lovely colours/shades, easy to apply and don't feel sticky or greasy, good coverage and leave a matt effect lip.

These lip tints are ok, the colours are rich and you can use a balm over the matte ones or the metallic tint over them for more depth. Unfortunately they don't stay put like a true lip stain or other long lasting lip tints I've had. I find the applicator wand puts too much colour on so it's hard to get a nest outline so I use a lip brush. To keep the colour I've had to reapply often. So if you're expecting a lip stain you'll be disappointed but if you're expecting a vibrant well pigmented lip tint you'll be happy. As the st is advertised as a lip stain as well as a lip tint I don't recommend because they're definitely not a lip stain as I know. Liostsins usually last pretty much all day, these start to disappear once you drink and leave imprints on your cups.

This set from Exmiloo comes with 4 lip colours. There are 3 x stains in beautiful matte nude shades, and a pretty vibrant orange gloss to add dimension to your lips. The colour applies well and doesn't leave a sticky finish on my lips. I like that I can go light, or build layers for more intense colour. And to create a 3D effect that accentuates the shape of my lips, I find the sparkly orange gloss does the job really well. Each tube has 1.5ml of colour, and the petite size makes them ideal for popping into your make-up bag for touch-ups, and for travel as well.

As buildable lip tints go, these aren’t bad at all for the price. They come in a lovely display box that holds four, two and a half-inch vials, and there are three matte tints with one sparkly gloss. The shades are lovely and pigmented and did last a few hours on my lips, so quite happy with the performance. I can see me using these up quite quickly, so it pays to use the wands sparingly, but a little pigment does go a long way. A really nice set that is good quality and decent value for money, which I’ll be using a lot this Spring time.
