Fullgreen, Riced Cauliflower (case of 6 pouches)

This arrived and my first thought was I’m not going to like this- cooked today had it with a small amount of sauce and 3 homemade meat balls- it was absolutely delicious and extremely easy to prepare just pop in the microwave for people who are dubious give it a try you will not be disappointed but probably recommend it with a small amount of sauce as on it’s own it is a little bit bland- but you could put anything with it tinned tomatoes etc etc highly recommended

I have type 2 diabetes, so try to keep carbs low. One way to do this is with cauliflower rice as a replacement for the 'bulk' carbs that accompany the protein and fats I eat. I tend to make my own cauliflower rice and freeze it, but sometimes I don't have any made up and these are a perfect replacement. I have to admit, when they are first opened the smell is unappealing, but once cooked it tastes fine and I use to make pilau rice or egg fried cauliflower rice mixed up with other vegetables. I find it goes well with Cod and chicken dishes, and is quite nice mixed up with garlic mayo! I use plenty of pepper. Mixed nicely with wine sauces from meals as well.

I struggle to find this in my local (remote) shop so was delighted to find it on Amazon - and even more delighted when it arrived in one day. Whilst this is fairly bland on its own it's a brilliant base for meals. I add lots of veggies, garlic etc to have with protein. It makes eating low carb so much easier. Yes, I could rice my own cauliflower and have done so, however it's ever so messy - the wee bits get into every crevice in the kitchen. This is a great way to have it. And it keeps well.

Very excited to try this product as I am on a low carb diet. I first noticed when microwaving it had quite a weird smell to it. My first meal was just chicken and rice, to be able to try the rice as is. Honestly it's not as nice IMO as normal rice but at 20cal and 4g per 100g serving its pretty worth it. My next option was to smother it in a sauce (photo). The whole meal was only 460cal and 11.1g carbs and it could easily be 2 portions as the rice made it so filling and it didn't have that "funky" taste or smell. I recommend dousing it with sauce like a curry, and cut back on portion sizes. If they made 100g bags so that you don't have to either use it all or store some that would be perfect. May try another flavour like the tomato ones or try frying to get rid of the funk.

Excellent for anyone on a weight loss diet. I spice it up a little by adding different flavours to it but it’s fine on its own too. I use it frequently.

I was originally excited to try this, as I'm trying to bulk up my meals but not my calories. The intent was to do half cauliflower rice, half normal rice, so I still get the bulk. Unfortunately, I only tried one packet, as they tasted mouldy and rotten in dinner - I couldn't finish and ended up throwing the rest away. There was such a pungent smell when it came out of the microwave that I should have known, really. I don't recommend these to anyone, unless I got a particularly bad batch, but I won't be trying again - I've learnt my lesson, just do it yourself in future.
