Trail Camera Solar Panel,6W Solar Charger Kit 6V/2A 9V/1.5A 12V/1A 4000mAh

I won't run my cameras for more than 10 hours. As soon as the sun goes down the little C101 Tapo camera drains it fast even though I have only Low Motion Detection selected and night vision turn off. No notifications turned on and the app says the camera has full wifi signal. I don't think it is a problem with the panel though based on internet information.

I go through a lot of AA batteries each deer season with all my trail cams. Each of my cell cams takes 12 batteries, besides getting expensive they add excess weight to my pack when setting up and servicing my cameras. This solar panel should be a game changer. I use the Moultrie cameras and its like this was made for them. The panel connects up with the standard cable, literally took me less than a minute to test out of the box. It was simple screw in cable to panel (cable is labeled so easy to figure out which end to the panel), plug into camera, and turn on. My initial test was on the island in my kitchen, there was sufficient ambient light to power up my camera. Field mounting is pretty typical, sorry didn’t take pics. There is a mount that attaches to the tree with a strap. It is plastic with some metal parts. While it is easy to adjust you do have to play with it to get it tightened down and holding correct position. The mount allows you to adjust the panel from parallel to a little perpendicular to the ground just in case you are attaching to a tree that is growing at an angle. This lets you select the best position to get sunlight. I have similar panels on home security cams and found its best to have some angle so rain and snow run off. I mounted the camera with a similar adjustable mount and then plugged in the cable. Easy peasy. The panel is very functional so far. It has a built in battery that charges during the day and powers my camera at night. So far (only been installed for a couple days) it works through the night without issue. Granted, not a lot of photos sent so perhaps during the season where there is more activity it may be different, but for now, doing the job. One concern, especially for those hunting on public lands, there is no where on the panel to attach a security cable. Not all hunters are honorable folks, so one improvement might be superglueing a metal loop on the back side to have the option of locking the panel around the tree. Overall, a nice panel, works great!

This is a very nice battery and solar panel for powering a trail camera. The battery has good capacity on its own and of course, the solar panel works to keep the battery fully charged. The battery has several different voltage outputs and socket adapters so it can be used on just about any trail camera (and a lot of other devices as well.) (It should be noted that I have not actually tested the full gamut of trail cameras -- but I had no trouble finding the right combination of voltage output and socket adapter to work with mine. It's also worth noting that even if you don't have the exact voltage that your trail camera says it needs, it may still work with a voltage that is close. Any battery powered device has, by necessity, the ability to operate with it's battery as it slides down it's voltage curve. (Or in other words, within limits, they tolerate a relatively wide voltage range.) The mounting bracket for the battery/charger is good but it isn't perfect. The the ball and socket adjustment is a bit fiddily. When you tighten it down to firmly lock the joint in position, it tends to twist the ball, which, of course, throws off the aim of your solar panel. With enough fiddling around, you can get the panel pointed where you want it, but it would be nice you didn't have to fiddle with it. The second thing is that the combinate of mounting bracket and strap with buckle does restrict the minimum size of thing that you can strap the mount to. Roughly speaking 2.5" diameter is about the smallest you can go and with weight of the battery, you will probably want something larger. (I have used a block of wood to artificially increase the diameter of what I am strapping to.) Lastly, is the length of the strap can be a hassle. You want the strap to sit flat so it needs to be threaded into the buckle the right way, but this can be challenging when you have a lot of strap blowing in the wind and you are also trying to keep the bracket in the right place and wrap the strap around whatever you are strapping to. All that said, the mount does work well with a wide range of mounting options and you should be able to find something near to your trail cam that will work. Count me as a happy camper!

I got this to use on an inexpensive trail cam. The solar panel outlasted the trail cam. It is durable and looks like it will last a long time if mounted so water doesn't get into the ports. It provided decent power for the camera, which was a basic camera set to low sensitivity. I like this panel because the multiple voltage mean that it is compatible with a couple of other cameras that I have. You can connect it to many different models with the different ports. Overall, I think it is a ok value- based on decent performance/options, but slightly higher cost.

Even though this solar panel is advertised for use with trail cams, it has been the perfect solution for a wireless camera mounted far from my house. While scrolling through Amazon one night this caught my eye, so I opened its page to check it out more. At first it seemed like the standard "solar panel" that I have purchased many of, but once I dug a little deeper, I realized just how much more this offers. This solar panels mount has a more aggressive base on it, so when using it on a tree it allows for a stronger grip. this kit also includes a strap to help with holding it on a tree or really anything else it can completely wrap around. What makes this solar panel the king of kings though is the built-in battery/power supply. Unlike the other solar panels you can buy that supply power on demand and only what it can create, this panel is constantly charging an internal battery, and the battery is supplying the energy to the device. I also really like that you can fully charge the panel/battery using a 5v wall charger, then you can hang it up and allow the solar panel to keep the battery topped off. Now how well the solar panels keeps the battery charged is determined by how much power your device is using, but in the case of my camera, I have not seen the battery get below 95%. This solar panel has 3 round charging ports of various voltages. It also has a USB-C port, but will not charge anything with that. The USB-C port is for charging the internal battery only, not for charging other devices.

I'm very satisfied with this solar charger. The housing, and the face of the solar panel, seem to be appropriately durable. The pivoting base is easily adjustable, it locks securely in place by simply rotating the tightening ring. It can be secured with screws, or, you can use the included strap to quickly attach it to a tree or a post. Although the strap won't reach around a large tree, there shouldn't be any shortage of smaller diameter mounting options in any typical forested area. There are separate power taps for different DC voltage outputs, and a USB C input port for fast charging when you can't wait for the solar panel to do the job. Although marketed as a device to power hunting cameras, this can be used for anything else which could be powered by any of its three DC output options, such as (for example) a residential security camera. There is however no USB power out port, so you'd need some sort of adapter if you want to use it as a power bank to recharge a phone or tablet. The only thing I don't like is the USB C port/on-off switch cover. It isn't as well designed as the rest of it, not tight fitting enough, and has NO sort of retainer. I can see it being knocked-off by a high wind, or a squirrel, bird, or other animal crawling over it, and never again being seen. Not enough of an issue to remove a star from this review, but it certainly merits comment Has a very good operating temperature range, but it isn't rated for EXTREME cold or heat, so if you have an expedition planned for the Antarctic, or Death Valley, you probably need something more robust than this consumer grade product. Factory packaging is good, it's well protected from those careless delivery people who I "love" so much. Overall a great charger, seems to be a fair (but not phenomenal) buy at it's listed $40 price point
