This is a good, general purpose grinding wheel for a six inch bench grinder. They state essentially that this can be used on any metals except for ferrous, but cast iron by definition is a ferrous metal so I don't know how to resolve that contradiction. Ferrous means at its most basic, the primary component is iron content. Also, that applies to stainless steel. Maybe something was lost in translation. It seems they're saying that due to the high grit, its meant for hard metals, since they list it being able to be used on stainless steel and carbide. The grinding that I do isn't heavy duty, but burr removal, light shaping, and I even use the grinder to grind down one side of a pair of needle nose pliers where the tip broke off so I didn't have to throw them out. It's a good, general purpose, high grit wheel. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the guidance for materials that it's appropriate for. If you have a bench grinder, I think you know what you can use wheels like this on like I do, and I'm happy with it even though there's a slightly confusing product page.

I had to return the wheel as we returned the bench grinder. Appears to be a good grinding wheel.

Placed it on bench grinder without issues during tightening. No chipping or cracking. It spun better than the original when new, meaning its better balanced. The grit is true to the size.
