Safety Warning NO Review: Bargain beautiful face painting/tattoo metallic pens- I love them! - I ordered this set of ten face paint pens rather on impulse, with a vague idea that they might come in handy for Empire LARP. They arrived in fairly unprepossessing plain cardboard packaging, but once I opened the box, the pens themselves were actually really attractive – especially if, like me, you’re a sucker for anything with a bit of gold on it. They’re labelled as tattoo pens and come with a very small instruction sheet, which isn’t the most helpful. It feels quite generic – it even includes instructions for painting rocks, which I’m fairly sure isn’t what these are designed for. That said, whatever is in them, the colours are really lovely. I did a quick tester on my arm (see photo), and all the pens apart from the white are beautifully metallic with a proper glittery finish, very much as shown in the listing. I can absolutely see these being used for things like festival face designs or even quite detailed LARP looks. The nibs are the flexible brush-style type, so you can do both fine lines and thicker strokes depending on pressure, which makes them surprisingly versatile. They’re also very easy to use – the colour flows well without dragging on the skin, which is always a bit of a deal-breaker with cheaper pens. I haven’t tested longevity properly yet, so I can’t say how long they last or how easy they are to remove with soap and water. I’ve left the tester on my arm for now, purely in the name of science, and so far they seem fairly resilient – I’ll update if that changes. At the current price point, I think these are a bit of a bargain and could be a lot of fun. The only caveat is that there’s very little information about ingredients, so I can’t really comment on the safety side of things. Assuming that’s all in order, though, these would be great for face painting, festivals, or LARP, and I’d happily recommend them. Review: Good quality and good price too - Good quality, very easy to use it and clean up as well, the color is very nice and beautiful.
