It Might Be An Apple

I LOVE this book!
I am thoroughly obsessed with this author. All of his books are fantastic. They're not your usual kids' book at all, which I really enjoy. I have an advanced 4-yr-old who enjoys the books and thinks this one is so fun and hilarious.

A children’s book of imagination and wonder.
Shisuke Yoshitake is a gifted writer and illustrator. There is really nothing like his books. What Happens Next? is a remarkable book about death. It Might Be an Apple really teaches kids to be imaginative. The latest is is The I Wonder Bookstore. It is a bit more advanced in language and concepts but my six year old son loves it! In fact, he has read all of Mr. Yoshitake’s books that have been translated into English dozens of times. Every book is full of wonder and imagination and humor and I hear my son cackle with delight every time he reads these books. We just pre-ordered the next book (The Boring Book). All of these books are a treasure.

Worthwhile
This has instantly moved up the ranks as a household favorite amongst our children's book collections. I constantly get requests to read this book, there's enough illustrations that you notice something new during each read (wacky rhyming names of apples, elaborate imaginary blueprints inside an apple). At first, I thought this book was quite costly compared to others, but the smile and joy I see when it's read aloud makes it genuinely worth every cent.

Great little book for kids to learn to read. I’ve bought more of the authors books.

We bought it after purchasing the original version in Japanese. There is certainly a certain nuance that gets lost in translation, which makes this English version mediocre at best. It is a shame as the original is such an excellent book.

Fun for a toddler, and I'm sure older kids as well
My son received this book at about 2 1/2 as a gift. It has been a favorite for months. It's fun to read, almost a graphic novel style. And he and the reader usually laugh as we read it together. There's a lot going on on each page, and he always asks us to discuss all the details. I think it will be a favorite for a long time.

Gorgeous illustrations and quirky fun
Beautiful book - I love it but my 3yo isn’t quite into it just yet. As with all books for kids, they tend to discover them and love them at their own pace and I’m sure that will happen with this one in time.

Great book
I came across this book in Japan visiting a museum, it stuck with me and bought it recently for my child, who loves it! She wants it read every night. Nice story which engenders an imaginative questioning approach to the world

Something deep explained in fun and simple ways
Really refreshing and I love the idea of exploring something beyond the obvious. This was a great tool to help me plant a seed in my children's mind about lateral thinking
