My 9 yr old son absolutely loves this turtle. He painted it to look like a real turtle and glued googly eyes on it. The brush that comes with it is crappy, but we have some decent quality paintbrushes he used instead. I would definitely recommend that instead of the included brush. The paint itself is pretty good. It was very tacky/sticky for the first day or so after he painted it, but it cured nicely.

This was an Easter present for my step daughter. The first owl was broken and she couldn’t paint it that day. We received a new one and the white paint is completely dried up and that yellow...blue...and purple are almost too thick like a paste you can’t really paint with. We used a tooth pick to try and mix it. My step daughter doesn’t seem to mind but this is not what I paid for. I don’t know how to contact the payor so I’ll leave a review instead. The first rock was broken now that paint is dried up and/or too thick/chunky to even use the way it’s intended.

I purchased these for my grandchildren, ages eight and five. I thought they would love painting the turtles and placing them in their garden. Both children really enjoyed the project, spending considerable time designing their turtles and discussing their choices of colors, etc. with me, so I had a great time as well. The paints have caps, so if a child wished to add more colors to the turtle later the paints should stay moist. Another customer suggested adding a clear finish to the turtle; I think this would be a good idea.

The turtle is adorable, but it is not made of stone. It is a hollow stone looking plaster-like material. It will break if dropped. The turtle is about the size of my hand. The set does come with weatherproof paint: Please note: The weatherproof paint does stain. You will want to supervise, protect your work area and adhere to the recommended ages of 8 and up. We protected our counter with cardboard. To do it again, I would have them make them outside. We don't have them outside. The are an indoor decoration for now. We sprayed them with a clear acrylic finish. I will update with pics when they dry! Great price point and the kids had fun.

my husband and I purchased 13 of these for our grandchildren. We sent them to their homes to provide something different and memories to make while we are all isolated due to the virus. Seven of these kits so far had dried up paint. I have not yet contacted the rest but this is really a disappointment after the exciting phone calls from those grandkids happy to receive the kits and anxious to start painting on Saturday. I just called our son's family in Italy to let them know as theirs will not arrive until April 1st. It was an awesome idea but very frustrating for all involved. The rocks are cute and IF (which has not been the case so far) all recipients have paint of their own, it ends up as a good time for all.

So my oldest daughter got this kit as a gift several years ago and it was great! For Christmas, I decided to buy my younger daughter the same kit so that she could have a turtle outside alongside her sister's.When we opened the kit, the paint was all dried out. Having had this kit before, I knew that the paint wasn't supposed to be solid, so I contacted the seller (GM Brothers, in my case). I told them that I wasn't requesting a refund because we would like to keep the turtle (and I just bought my own paints to use instead), but that they should know that the paint that came with the kit was unusable.They responded that the paint was supposed to be like this, and that you need to add water!Wow.So... that's not how this paint kit works. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

I bought two of the turtle rock paint kits for my grandchildren. The turtle that was supplied in the kit is cute and durable but the paints supplied were dried out and not usable. I did not return them because the kids were so excited and wanted to paint their turtles. I had some regular craft water based paints, so they used them. Unfortunately, the paint is not for outside use like the paint that is supplied with the kits. I do not recommend buying this product. The manufacturer needs to use a different container, so the paints don’t dry out.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. It said 8 years on up so I thought it a safe bet sense she hasn’t eaten paint since she was little. She loves owls and I thought it would be a fun project for her. It comes with a paintbrush and six different colors (white, yellow, red, green, blue, and purple). The owl itself stands about 4” tall.
