great design
We have many ornamental bushes on our property and I do an exceptional amount of pruning, so much in fact I carry three pairs of bypass pruners on my belt when I begin a day of pruning so I won't have to make a lot of trips back to the shop for sharpening and tension adjustments. Over the years I've found that the two piece pruners hold up the best. Never cared for the ones with the main blade being attached via pins or rivets, they just haven't held up and I've ended up pitching every pair I ever had. This particular unit from Fiskars has proven to be an exception. The design of the handles allows better leverage and less strain on the wrist and fingers. The blade made of high tensile tool steel holds it's edge better than any other unit I own and cuts some pretty stout branches that I normally would grab the larger lopping shears to cut. I will be adding a couple extra units to my arsenal.

Beware Warehouse Purchases
You win some, you lose some. I purchased this item at a reduced price from the warehouse. Unfortunately it should have been destroyed rather than resold. It looks like it had been used/abused and damaged and returned to Amazon. It could not be closed and latched for storage and so it wasn’t safe because the sharp blade was exposed. I have since bought this item somewhere else and the model has been redesigned and is much more robust. I would give the new design 5 stars.

Well Built
This is a great tool that is very well built and priced right. The entire thing is made of solid steel, all the way through the handles. Does not flex when making cuts and is easy to disassemble for sharpening and cleaning. Holds an edge for a good long time. The spring has just the right amount of force to open up the pruners after cutting without resistance when making a cut.Definitely would buy again but it is so well made i will not need to.I have had no issue with the latch as some others have mentioned, stays open and out of the way when I use it.

Hate to say good-bye
We own a vineyard and these Fiskars Pruners have been our tool of choice for several years. With a sharpening stone and WD40, they last much longer than other pruners we tried. Sorry to hear they are discontinuing this model, but we took advantage of the steep discount and bought several pair.

It wasn't a Fiskar
I previously ordered this pruner from this seller and LOVED the pruner. It was new, sharp, smooth. I really loved it!!! Unfortunately, I lost it quickly. I just ordered a new one from this same seller. I was genuinely excited to get this great little pruner again. It arrived very quickly. However, I felt instantly disappointed. At first, I wasn't even sure why - it just didn't seem to look or feel the same. It didn't have that "shiny new look" I expected. But worse, it just wasn't as smooth. After looking more closely, I realized it had a small, dark spot on the blade where it was sort of catching - that was why it didn't feel smooth. The more I looked, the more I wondered if this wasn't even a new item, but used. There were very fine scratches on the blade. I double checked our order to be sure I had ordered a new item and not a used. I ordered new. Comparing my item to the picture, the handle was green, not black. More of a cheap plastic than I remember on the original Fiskar pruner I had. The thing I should have noticed instantly was it wasn't even a Fiskar! Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I did not return the item (it wasn't much money to begin with, so my husband didn't want me to waste money on return postage, and we so don't like the hassle of returning things), so the seller wasn't given the chance to make it right. Maybe they would have - I just don't know. I know these will need to be replaced eventually as they are already developing some rust and look very old despite my wiping them down after use. I will not order from this seller again. They were fine the first time, but I just don't like making returns and I don't want to risk not getting it right the first time again.

Still great pruners.
Somehow I lost my last pair, which I had for many years. Worked well so I got another Fiskars. This new one is also great. While I was tempted to go with the more expensive pruners, I still consider Fiskars to be top of the line, although more reasonably priced.

Great pruners
Fantastic pruners, very sharp and easy to use on the hands. Maintenance is key though to keep it lasting thru the years.
