RiversEdge Products Stainless Steel Spice Tin Base, 12" X 24" for Magnetic Spice Tins, Spice Rack

This Stainless Steel Spice Tin Base exceeded my expectations. It came packed very well and the sheet of stainless steel was covered by a protective film on both sides. This made it very easy to tell which side should be facing out as both sides were labeled well on the film. I did peel back the top corners a bit when I screwed this to the cabinet to make it a little easier to peel off when the entire base was attached and this kept fingerprints away. The hardware (6 quality screws) were included to attach this to my wood cabinet assuring that all screws were identical and also gave this a clean seamless look. This 12 x 24 stainless steel base fits perfectly on the end cap of my cabinet. I have attached 48, 2 oz spice jars to this magnetic base. They do not slip, slide or move in any manner unless you firmly pull them off. I was a little concerned about how strong the magnetism would be but there was no reason for that concern! I believe we could have an earthquake and the spices would be just where I left them. This product is also made in the USA! I did have a problem with the post office misplacing my package and I reached out to Rivers Edge and they corrected the problem, even though it was not their problem, and promptly sent me another. Their customer service is beyond helpful and quickly corrected a problem that they did not cause. This product is amazing, cleared up so much cabinet space for me and the quality is fantastic, this isn't just a flimsy piece of stainless steel, its something that will hold up for years, was well made and reminds you of manufacturing of days past. You just don't see quality like this too often anymore! Don’t hesitate on this one, the cost is reasonable, the looks are better, the quality exceptional and their company cares about what they are producing! This item arrived in sturdy cardboard packaging. It was not dented or bent even though it is a metal sheet that would be capable of bending or marring if it was not properly packaged. The tin wall base had a clear plastic coating that you peel off before use it to insure that the side that you display on the wall will be pristinely clean without scratches or dings. The wall base screwed easily into the wall, and I should mention that we did buy our own screws as they did not come with this item (I had expected this but am writing it as an FYI).If you want to make your own spice tins to fit on this wall base then I suggest checking Pinterest for ideas or simply googling "make your own magnetic spice tins". There are several great blog articles about making your own magnetic spice tins with suggestions on which sized magnets to use and which glass bottles to buy. Here is one example: [...] . You can also buy pre made magnetic spice bottles on amazon with or without the spices included. And I like the hexagon shaped magnetic glass bottles that amazon sells because the spice bottles fit together snugly on the wall base to fit the maximum number of spice bottles on the base.Since i live in a small Manhattan apartment, it is very nice to not waste shelf space with my spices and instead have them magnetically secured to this magnetic wall spice rack. It is also easy to find which spice that I need with the magnetic spice rack because I can just glance at the labels on the wall spice rack, as opposed to digging through a cabinet to find a specific spice while I am busy cooking. The tin wall base is also large enough to fit a lot of spices. Overall, it is a great product!

I bought this to use as a base for a magnetic spice rack. I didn't trust many of the pre-built magnetic spice racks available and decided to put together my own using bits and pieces from different things, and I'm so glad that I did even though it ended up costing me a little more.The delivery was quick and the base itself was well protected with a white film. There were no dents or scratches on the base at all, so I was very impressed with the packaging because I was afraid I was going to end up with a mess (and I think it could be very easy to damage this if the packaging was not good).One thing to mention is that this particular wall base only came with 4 screws and 4 anchors; but there are six holes around the base. I hadn't realized that when we were marking our wall and drilling the holes in the wall to hang this. So there are two empty holes in our wall that we had to make a trip to the hardware store to buy the extra screws and anchors to fill, otherwise it looked unfinished.But other than that this is beautiful. It works very well for what we built and I am getting compliments on the finished spice rack.For others looking to do the same, I used Stainless Steel Spice Rack with 6 Magnetic Jars, and they hold onto this base very nicely, even when filled with heavy spices like whole nutmeg or Peppercorns. The rack itself is very sturdy against the wall and does not wiggle or bend as I take the spices off for use while cooking. The four screws and anchors were enough to hang the base onto the wall easily; we decided to buy the other two to fill in the holes, but they weren't necessary in order to keep the base hanging steadily.

The sheets (2) cane slightly bent and the wrong way (installed it would help to be slightly bent the other way to fix it flat to the wall - there is a directive as to which side ought to be facing out due to finish (#3 on correct side)). It was no problem correcting. I had to purchase mounting screws which is no big deal, but meant a trip to the hardware store. I searched other sites for 403 stainless and this was the slightly better site though I had to have it trimmed for size I required. Luckily I have family in fabrication enterprises

I bought this to paint and put in a picture frame so I could put my magnetic photos on! Works great! Good magnetic hold!

I'm really loving this unit. It keeps my spices where I can see them easily, but does not take up any of my very limited cupboard space. It looks good with any decor and was easy to install. If you are limited on storage space in your kitchen this is the perfect solution.

Excellent board, perfect for the application. Our neodymium magnets stick to it really well. We needed drywall anchors and bigger screws, because we put our spices in mason jars and those are heavy. The board was packed well, with a protective film on the front side and is holding up well so far.

I ordered two of these to hang side by side. They arrived in good condition protected from scratches with bubble wrap and a heavy plastic peel off coating. The flat panel was very nice quality, no shape edges and came with hanging hardware. I chose Ikea magnetic jars and used the premium spice jar labels in silver made by Shop at Claire. The whole set looks modern and great and I was able to free up a whole cabinet! For a very reasonable price, I think they are will worth it.

Just as shown and sits well on the wall.
