Made indoor seed starting much easier and more successful.
I’ve used several seed starter kits over the years, and this MetryGrow setup is one of the better all-in-one systems I’ve tried for indoor seed starting. The heating mat noticeably improved germination speed, especially for peppers and herbs that usually take longer in cooler temperatures. Combined with the full-spectrum LED light, the seedlings came up evenly and stayed compact instead of stretching thin toward the light. The 80-cell tray is a great size because it lets you start a large variety of plants without needing multiple trays. The humidity dome also helped maintain moisture levels during the first critical days of germination. One thing I appreciated was that the grow light was actually strong enough to be useful. A lot of starter kits include weak lights that barely help, but this one produced healthy-looking seedlings with good color and sturdy stems. Setup was straightforward, and overall the kit feels well thought out for beginners and experienced gardeners alike. Great for starting vegetables, herbs, flowers, or even indoor hydroponic projects. For the price, this kit offers a lot of value and made indoor seed starting much easier and more successful.

Highly recommend for seedlings to start
I got this to start seeds for vegetables (as this is my first time trying to grow anything) and I love it!!! You can go on the app and set the time when to have the light come on and off and change it from what is being grown. It helps regulate the temperature and humidity for the seedlings to germinate. Highly recommend this product. If I had any negative feedback would be I didn’t like putting the water in the bottom tray because it made the cells so soggy and held too much water so I water them myself

Very Nice Setup For Seed Starting
I've been starting seeds for several years as it less expensive than buying plants and this is a pretty nice setup. Just one problem- the trays are too large to fit on the heat mat together. However, the mat is large enough for the standard 10x20 trays so that's good. The cells in the trays are a very nice size especially for the large seeds like pumpkins and squash. Smaller seeds (tomatoes) can sprout and stay in the cells for quite awhile, taking advantage of the grow light which is a very nice size for one tray. The plastic is a decent thickness- should last for at least two or three cycles. I didn't really need to use the lids- they made it a little too warm when the trays were on the heat mat. I love the thermometer/controller on the heat mat- some seeds just need a little warmth and it's easy to adjust. As to the price, if you price everything separately, it's a little on the high side. If you don't want to bother with searching out individual prices and ordering from different vendors, this is a good way to go. I certainly enjoy having it and the seeds I've started in it are doing very good. I'm looking forward to a fantastic garden this year and this set has certainly played a good part.

Such an upscale seedling system!
4.5⭐️ As an avid grower both inside and out, my thoughts are starting to turn to this next growing season. Having had some issues finding certain annuals locally and if found a bit unhappy at the prices wanted for them, I made the decision last year to start some of these from seed. So, of course when I saw this listing for an 80 cell, 48W, full spectrum grow light system complete with a heat mat, I felt I would treat myself. And my new plants! This system seems to be a premium setup! The LED light panel easily connected to the armed stand and the setup of this and the heat mat were simple, easy and quick. Having an adjustable arm allows for the grow light to be raised as high as 16” as the plants/seedlings develop for optimal growth and health. I would like to point out that as this is my first heat mat, I did find it a bit concerning that I could find nothing mentioned as to whether there was a up side to it for use. I did a search to discover it is printed side up. Both the heat mat and light have a control panel for them. The heat mat options allow me to choose the level for the heat range wanted. Also a timer is available for hour ranges of up to and including 24 hours. The grow light options include light intensity of 50% or 100%, lighting modes for plants (greening) or flowering spectrums and a timer which allows me to tailor the growing light for whatever it is I am using this system for. Currently, I have moved in some propagations I had already started. I have no doubt that with this change into brighter, more direct lighting and the warm grow mat conditions, I should see faster results from my Alocasia corms and increased growth for the wet sticks that have already sprouted. These will be something that this system can be used for year round with the plant seeds being sown in a few months time. I am even contemplating experimenting with sowing a particular, highly favoured bean variety to create transplants rather than direct sowing. This may help to overcome an issue with seeding failure for a percentage of this particular variety. Now that I have this wonderful system, I can indulge in this sort of luxury, particularly as this system offers me up to the 80 seedlings it can grow at one time. Amazing! The only reason this hasn’t a full 5 stars is the heat mat issue and a concern with the hand control for the grow light. It came out of the packaging with the face plate separated some from the body in all but one corner as shown in the 2 photos. This controller still works and works easily and readily. I have attempted to reseat it and it seems to work, but is separated again a few minutes later. As this is set up and automated presently, I’ve no need to touch it until the next power outage that knocks the programming from the system requiring a reset. I do plan on reaching out to the supplier about this issue and will update you. Otherwise this grow system would have been a 10 out of 5 system for me I am that pleased with this!

Intelligently Designed Kit,Covers All The Bases & Addresses Common Mistakes Removing The Guess Work!
This all-in-one 80-Cell Seed Starter Kit is everything you need to finally perfect your seed starting process at home. MetryGrow has thought of everything, making seed starting a much more enjoyable experience. I've been starting my seeds indoors for years now. Living in Canada, it's kind of a necessity for crops like tomatoes & peppers to have the time to grow into massive plants with great yields. I also run a small heirloom seed business, so I'm pretty aware of the pitfalls of home seed germination - not enough light, over/under watering, lack of humidity, & the most common one that slows down the germination process - low soil temperatures. This kit is actually among the most comprehensive starter kits I've come across that addresses all of these issues in one product. The features of this kit don't simply address the common pitfalls of seed germination with basic solutions... they've gone the extra mile here and everything included in this kit is made of quality materials. BUILD The seed water trays, (2) 40-Cell Seed trays & humidity domes are made of good quality durable 1.2mm ABS plastic as compared to the majority of green coloured humidity/propagation domes & trays available on the market. ABS is known to be safe for plants without concern for leeching chemicals under normal use. It's a good option for safety and durability without bending or warping under heat from the heating mat. The humidity domes include 2 vents in either side which as opposed to some other propagators I've used move them from the top to the side which is actually preferrable in my opinion since it allows for fresh air to move through the dome is you're looking for a quick ventilation or your humidity get too high. The telescoping light rod base is a huge upgrade from the more common versions with clip-on LEDs or LEDs built into the humidity dome itself. I've used these in the past & while they function for getting the seeds to pop they aren't adjustable and as your plants grow you inevitably end up stacking up books or building various contraptions to get the lights the proper distance from your plants for optimal growth. This is no longer an issue with this adjustable light rod which extends up to 16 inches. Another unique feature is the ball/joint light assembly which allows full 360 degree swivel. LIGHT The grow light itself is a true 48 watts full spectrum, high efficiency SMD LEDs - more efficient than cheaper bulb-like LEDs. MetryGrow touts genuine wattage without the inflated claims of watts seen in so many LED grow lights online that don't hold up in intensity in real world testing. The MetryGrow LED grow light is full spectrum. It's a balanced mix of: blue (for compact, strong vegetative growth and seedling development), red (for overall photosynthesis and root/stem encouragement), white LEDs (broad coverage, including green/yellow wavelengths for fuller plant response) Colour temperature falls in the 5000K–6500K range, which is ideal for vegetative/seedling growth. It also includes a remote control allowing you to adjust the brightness levels, light temperature (grow/Bloom) and set a timer (12 hrs/16hrs). This is a super useful option if you don't want to bother with app integration. For more fine tuning the light control can be connected to Wi-Fi for app integration via the NthGrow app. HEAT The 30w heating mat with 6 heat settings and built-in soil temperature probe is something I haven't seen in any other seed starting kits & this is another great feature that elevates this kit to a premium option above most others. In the past I've relied on ambient temperature inside the dome, or analog or digital thermometers stuck in the soil to get an accurate reading. The problem here is the ambient temp doesn't really tell you where the soil temp is at and any thermometer (digital or analog) reliably gets fogged up from the humidity inside the dome & becomes basically unreadable. The best option I've found is a wireless meat probe which takes the read out outside the dome but even this option pales in comparison to this built-in thermostat which goes right in the soil & controls the heat mat based on readings. No more turning the heat mat on/off or setting a timer to get the optimal temp. One thing not included in this kit which is essential for strong seedlings with thick stems and tight growth nodes (not leggy or stretched) is a source of air movement like a small fan to blow on the seedlings once they've grown some true leaves & the dome is removed. However these can easily be purchased on Amazon for $20-30. Overall this is a comprehensive & intuitively designed starting kit that covers all the bases & takes much of the guesswork out of seed germination which can be frustrating especially for new growers.

Heat Mat Disappointing & Seed Tray Difficult to Manage
starting kit includes everything needed to get started growing seedlings for a small garden, but the seed trays and the heat mat could be improved. The heat mat was the biggest disappointment. It raised my soil temperature more than 10°C above the selected setting when tested with a quality digital thermometer. It heats in levels and the related temperatures are not indicated on either the mat or the controller. The lowest selectable level heats to 20°C. This is above the lowest temperature I require and often the maximum temperature. Unfortunately, it could not reliably maintain that temperature. I wish it had 10°C as an option. The heat mat with probe should be one of the primary benefits of this kit, but it is not useful to me except for high-temperature crops like hot peppers. The seed trays and basin are not standard sizes. I did appreciate the smaller overall size, which is easier to handle and suitable for smaller gardens. The cover and basin are a good thickness and feel adequately rigid. The seed trays themselves were the second most problematic component. They are noticeably thinner than the basin and cover, which makes them floppy and difficult to manage. This would often be a design benefit but it does not work in this case. Because the trays are so large and flexible, they are awkward to lift out for bottom watering and difficult to handle during seedling removal. The drainage holes are also too small to use for pushing out seedlings. (I enlarged the holes.) Ideally, the trays would be smaller relative to the basin to make removal and watering easier, perhaps two to four trays per seed basin. The included domes are a good height and include adjustable vent holes with covers. They are of above average rigidity and thickness. The grow light appears to be of decent quality. My seedlings were not excessively leggy. While not comparable to higher-end lights, the lights performed well. While not necessary, it would be nice if an additional height extension were included to accommodate mature plants, as this would allow the light to be used year-round. Like many lower-cost grow lights, dimming produces an audible buzzing sound. In practice, I do not believe the brightest setting is bright enough to burn my seedlings. The physical light controller works but is difficult to see because the buttons are not illuminated. The companion app (Nth Grow) is a more user-friendly light controller and is necessary for dimming adjustments. Initial setup was frustrating, as it would not connect properly until I reset and re-added the unit. Once connected, it functioned reliably. It would be nice if the app included tracking features such as watering or fertilization logs. One minor but impractical annoyance is that the app name does not appear anywhere on the product itself and searching MetryGrow on my phone does not bring up the Nth Grow app. The instructions suggest filling the basin halfway with water before inserting the trays. Without level markings on the basin, this is difficult to judge. Following these instructions with pre-moistened seed starting mix resulted in waterlogging, so very dry media may be necessary if using the recommended method. The plants pictured in the photo are radishes. I did suffer some losses due to my waterlogged soil but I don't expect as I won't be using as much water as instructed next time. I would have returned this item due to the poor operation of the heat mat.

Easy seed starting kit with adjustable lighting
This beginner-friendly seed starting kit is easy to set up and includes everything needed to start seedlings, though a few design details could be improved. This is my first time using a seed starting kit, and this set came with all the components I needed to get started. The overall setup is straightforward and the system is easy to operate. The LED grow light is height adjustable, which allows me to change the distance depending on the growth stage of the vegetables and herbs. The lighting is controlled through a simple controller. Each setting offers two options, and the indicator changes color depending on the selection. The interface is easy to understand, although I would have liked more options for both the timer and the light intensity settings. I also wish the light panel were a bit larger. When I place both seed trays underneath at the same time, the coverage isn’t perfectly even. Some sections seem to receive stronger light than others, as certain areas germinate noticeably faster even when planted with different types of vegetable seeds. The seed trays and humidity domes have a decent thickness and feel reasonably durable. Together the two trays provide 80 cells, which is a good amount of space for starting seedlings. One design detail I’m less fond of is the drainage holes at the bottom of the cells. They are smaller than I would prefer, which may make it more difficult to push seedlings out of the cells when it’s time to transplant them. I haven’t used the heating pad yet because my home is already warm from indoor heating. I did briefly test it, and even the lowest temperature setting seemed a bit warmer than what I currently need. The controller itself is simple to use, and adjusting both the temperature and timer settings is straightforward.
