Useless
Basically useless because I cannot get any phone to read the tag in order to rewrite it. I have tried on the iPhone 15 pro Max as well as an Android phone

1 of 2 Reasons why this ring doesnโt function.
Canโt get the NFC tag to read in Shortcuts on the iPhone 17 Pro. I have tons of smart tech and other NFC tags (stickers) and have never had a problem. Given the large amount of negative reviews mixed with a couple good ones I suspect a large percentage of these rings have water logged or damaged NFC circuitry from the epoxy used to form the ring. This explains why a hand full of people got lucky with a functional ring and most received a defective ring. Or the thickness of the epoxy is too think for most phones to pick up a signal. Either way buyer beware chances are it isnโt going to work for you.

Correct alignment with the antenna is CRITICAL!
Others have noted that this ring can't be read by their phone or device. I believe this is ENTIRELY due to positioning of the ring. There is only ONE position that this ring can be read by an NFC reader/writer. Orientation is CRITICAL! When I got the ring, I tried to read it, just as others have done. It would not. I slowly rotated the ring and my iPhone 15 Pro Max suddenly read it and then it wouldn't read again until I, again, rotated the ring. The resin that fills in the electronics is SLIGHTLY transparent. With a bright enough light, you can see the circuitry traces that lace the ring beneath that resin coating. What you are looking for is a dark (square) SPOT that's surrounded by a bunch of traces that roughly form rectangles around the spot. That is the antenna. Make a mark, that's where you'll hold it up to your phone, and it MUST be PERFECTLY aligned with the NFC antenna within your phone or device. If you're using your phone, find out *EXACTLY* where that antenna is. This ring is much harder to read than standard NFC tags! I have included a couple of photos of what you are looking for, but it's very difficult to get a GOOD photo with the equipment I have available to me. This rings surface is quite reflective and I'm sure someone out there with a better photography equipment with various light wavelengths can non-destructively cut through the coating to reveal the traces clearly, I'm just not that person. There are 2 other locations on the ring that somewhat LOOK like what you're looking for (See Photos). These have what appear to be BGA (tiny 7x7 grid array) locations. They also do NOT have a DARK appearance. What you're looking for has a DARK SQUARE in the middle of a bunch of traces that go in RINGS around the spot you're looking for. Once you find that, mark it somehow. I used a nail file and just scraped a bit of a line on the side of the ring. You might find a different or better solution for you. It would have been nice if the manufacturer had made it obvious where the antenna is, but sadly... They did not. That said, the ring does work just fine if you align everything correctly. I was able to read and write to the chip without difficulty once I was able to find and mark the antenna location.

Sucks but I like it
I bought this to replace the card I use to open my front door. And it works great. It's s little tricky at first. The alignment is crucial. I have an android phone. I simply downloaded a nfc clone app. Tapped nfc card that is programmed to my lock then I tapped the ring and that's it. Now I simply use the hand I have the ring on and turn the knob and it unlocks. But like I said alignment is crucial. Sucks you have to worry about the alignment, it is what it is. No big deal it works. What can you expect from an 8 dollar ring. It's not the end of the world. Definitely not a reason to be upset.

A**.
Does not work, can not be read from or written to.
This ring is misleading. Tried two different machines to try to read or write to it and the ring will not respond. Got a replacement and that one will not work either. Tested the two read/write machines with other known good NTAG213 tags and they worked fine.

NFC barely works
I kept two stars rating because the ring somehow work but really hard to position in order for the nfc to scan. Beautiful ring but functionality need a huge improvement. Not recommended if you want to use as a smart ring, is ok if you just like the looks
