My cats love this too bad It’s not more accessible in the states. It’s hard to get even through Amazon and it’s a little bit expensive. So nice though when I can Feed my cats ethically while they still get their optimum nutrition. People worry about taurine, but they don’t understand that, that nutrient is cooked out and added to all commercial pet foods. This food is veterinarian, tested and approved.

I did a lot of research beforehand to check that this cat food was safe and healthy - in the wild, cats are obligate carnivores, but Benevo vegan cat food has been scientifically formulated to provide all the nutrients necessary for cats. There are multiple studies to back it up, which I recommend looking into for yourself. The ONE verifiable drawback I could find based on research is that vegan cat food may increase the risk of UTIs by a small amount, specifically because the pH of their urine is lowered, which can make it harder for bacteria to be killed "down there." There are other ways to protect from UTIs besides diet, so I am not worried, but always check with your vet and monitor your cat's health, as some cats can be more prone to UTIs.The food itself smells delicious upon opening. My cat gobbled it up immediately, which she normally only does with wet food. It does need to be stored in an airtight container according to the packaging, which is not resealable. My cat is a 7.5 lb adult female Siamese, and I feed her 2 servings a day, 2.5 tbsp per meal.I cannot stress enough how much she loves this food, but it's only been a few days so I will update at a later point.Update: My cat has been on this food for 18 months and I'm happy to report she's as healthy as ever. She weighs the same, and is a happy little spoiled ball of energy 24/7.

I’ve been doing my research to find an option for my cat that is good for his health and doesn’t harm other animals. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of options in the US, so this seems the most reliable. Nutritional profile checks out. I was looking at a yeast-based food from Canada, but that doesn’t ship here. Benevo is from the UK. On their website, this exact same product is £15.49, which is about $20. They only ship in the UK, so I have to buy on Amazon. Now I understand international shipping costs more, but this is 3x the original price! Good thing is, my cat went crazy for this food immediately. I will continue buying, but the price is why I didn’t give five stars.

My Cats absolutely devour this cat food. It smells fresh and clean too which is always nice when you need to handle it. Definitely quality food that I’d love to continue to feed my cats for long time, and hope to eventually only feed vegan diet as much as possible. Researchers in a new study published in the open access journal PLOS ONE, wrote “Cats fed vegan diets tended to be healthier than cats fed meat-based diet. This trend was clear and consistent. These results largely concur with previous, similar studies.” Just wanted to add this for anyone doubting if it is healthy. Love it and feed it both as treats and full meal.

Updated review.So I guess they eliminated a third party or something and now the old packaging food that I was buying for $35 is now $45 plus shipping. My cat is on this food for 5 years now, perfectly healthy. Although from the very beginning I had to add water and make it semi-soft otherwise my cat’s digestion system couldn’t make it. at some point i also started adding tuna in cans in water (not in oil). That helped with toilet.Long story short as a base food it’s perfect for my cat. But they all different.UPD:The shipping time is ridiculous, from original 6-8 weeks to 10 weeks (updated on a delivery date).I guess I need to figure out new food for my cat because this is just doesn’t work with such timing.

I provide this food for my own regularly, and they exceedingly enjoy it. There was a time when I was unable to collect the order as it was shipped to a specific pickup location. During that period, I had to resort to feeding them tuna. Fortunately, they prefer this food over the tuna/ salmon (which of course the tuna can only be used short term). They were fond of the tomato and basil flavor of the tuna, yet they appeared to be quite tired of fish-based options, even showing a disinterest in the premium fish kibble I had purchased for them. They greatly enjoy their Benevo accompanied by Califa unsweetened oat milk, and Gretchen was exceptionally pleased to receive her bag again once I was able to retrieve it. However, there is a significant price discrepancy; it costs $15 in England while it is priced at $45 here. Is there any possibility for the price to be reduced for consumers in the United States? They exhibit such energy and vitality and have a genuine fondness for their Benevo!🤠🐾💕💕💕✨
