WONDERFULLY FUN!
I have an 8, 7, and 4 year old and this was DEFINITELY a hit! It's so simple to use, our 4 year old picked up on how to use it right away. I have NEVER been able to pitch a ball down the line (I blame it on bad baseball genes), and this is a breeze. Just turn it on, and it spits out the ball at your speed, right down the line! My husband was able to help our 4 year old son swing the bat instead of making an attempt at throwing it to him and telling him when to swing...so very helpful. The one thing I was a tad disappointed in were the three leg stands. Our 4 year old stepped on the middle of one of the stands and it instantly bent. We were able to bend it back, but there is still a mark and a "soft spot" I could see getting easily bent again. Other than that...it's a FANTASTIC invention! :)

My Grandson Loved It!
I bought this for my grandson for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. He is 4 1/2 years old and very athletic. He enjoys soccer, basketball and is taking children's break dancing. He immediately wanted to take it outside to practice. He did a great job of hitting the balls - and once hit it over the roof. It is perfect for him. I don't pretend it is on par with professional machines, but for a 4 or 5 year old it is perfect. He enjoys having his dad with him as he hits the balls. It's a great starter device for a child who likes to hit baseballs.....the balls are not too heavy - very light - and if you buy the extra balls offered on Amazon, there will be plenty. I also bought a good supply of batteries after reading the reviews from other buyers, which was VERY helpful. Thanks for all the good input!!

Stopped working after 1 use
My son got this for his birthday in February. We finally get some sun so we took him out to play. It worked great for 1 round. That's right, 1 round. Ball 1, 2 and 3 were great. 4 and 5 started coming out slow then it just stopped working. No idea what happen. The motor is super loud, like a loud fan. Not sure if its defective or what. Came to see if I could return it, looks like I missed the deadline by 3 days. Very disappointed.

Great toy for the price but a bit loud.
Works good, consistency of distance/location it pitches is not the best. The ability to have it pitch straight up so you can hit from standing is great and that works well.It is quite loud. Even in an open field it very loud.Batteries seem to be lasting ok so far. We do turn it off after each set of balls is pitched while we get them to reload. We did buy extra balls (Franklin Sports Aero-Strike Plastic Baseballs-Pack of 8 (70-mm)). They work great.Only other downside (which cant be helped) is if there is any wind, the balls do not pitch well because the wind blows them quite easily, but this is expected with the light plastic balls. The button on the bat is nice to let kids click when they want to hit it. I did notice that when they use it, their hand placement on the bat does get messed up (their finger stays pointing near the button, or their hand is not correct). I have to keep reminding them to fix how they hold it. NOTE: It does give you enough time from pushing the button to fix your hands before swinging. Just need to keep an eye on kids so if practicing they dont get into a bad habit of having hand positions wrong because of button

Super Fun!!
Bought this with my sister's recommendation for my 6 and 4 1/2 yr old grandsons. They loved it and have already played with it so much along with the girl cousins since Christmas. I also bought extra balls which is a great idea as they love to hit and hit. I also suggest you provide the batterie and extras, both D and 9 Volt so they can get it up and running immediately as it takes very little assembly. Graet find this Christmas. Can be played alone very well, they just have to go snag their balls.

It is much loved by the kids and it does exactly what it ...
It is much loved by the kids and it does exactly what it promises - if you set it on "bat", it waits until you push the button on the bat before it ejects the ball (which is a great improvement versus another one we used to own that threw the balls whenever it felt like it and pummeled unsuspecting children time to time [it was fun, though ;-))]. If this is a first automatic pitcher you are considering to buy, maybe it would be useful to know that these little things are surprisingly loud - not ideal for small yards and nervous neighbors.

Better than expected!
While my son (Age 7) has only had this for a few days, it appears to be a very quality product, especially considering the price. It throws the balls a reasonable distance and speed, which exceeded my expectations knowing it was all plastic (balls, bat, machine). My son is just learning to play baseball and certainly can use help with hand-eye coordination. I believe this will be a fun, safe way of practicing these skills when no one else is available to pitch to him. I do not leave feedback often, but thought I would do so for this worthy product.
