The Amazing Adventures of Scary Bones the Skeleton: The Lost Dog and Bone

I gave this to me 7 year old grandson, not a natural bookworm he was captivated, and it kept him quiet for ages. He wants the other books. I had to wait until he was in bed so i could finish it!!

Bought as a stocking filler for my son who is 6 years old and well-advanced at his reading. He is able to read this and finds it funny and interesting.

I have just finished reading Scary Bones with my 9& 6 year old boys and have to say it is the only book that has kept them so interested from start to finish! The vocabulary is perfect for them, and the storyline ticks along at a perfect pace. Thank you Mr Dawson! So if your boys aren't such keen readers, then this is THE book to read with them. The only sad thing is that if they ARE keen readers they'll whip right through it! Luckily there are more Scary Bones stories though! And the envelope to open at the end is just the best idea....

I have just read this book to my two children aged 7 and 9. We all hooted with laughter and ended up reading it all in one go! Really well written and an excellent story. Fab illustrations that really capture Scary's character. I would recommend this to all ages, certainly suitable to read alone (age 8ish upwards)but really should be read aloud. We loved the suprise at the end...Buy it, read it, laugh and ENJOY!

We bought this book for our (just) 7 year old grandson who is, to say the least, a reluctant reader and a fidgety listener. Couldn't believe it when we finished the book in 2 sessions - one at bedtime and the next the following morning at 6 am! Wonderful, surprise ending. Will be ordering the next in the series.
