OK as a general guide, but my wife and I found it difficult to visualise the paths, and their difficulty, from the descriptions given. We were back packing, so carrying heavy loads, which makes previous information important for forward planning, e.g. path surface and steepness. This guide assumes you carry a small day pack. The author also appeared to make light of tricky stretches, for instance, rather than saying - 'some scrambling required along this section', it would be 'you may need to put a hand out here' Our best information came from walkers coming in the opposite direction, who sometimes advised against our current route as too difficult with big packs. The timings were ok for us if we doubled them - yes we like to take our time and look around! Though better than the actual times used on the mountain route signage, these were superhuman speeds!Some of the trails are in a bad way and need attention, but nothing is said of this. The guide is not without merit, but to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Three stars no GPS routes included, will now purchase maps at a tenner a pop, pity as whole map of Slovenia can be purchased for around fifty quid for GPS or smartphone, would recommend guide nicely written but would like to see accesse points included at end of each section, not in back annexes of the book.

Just received it couple of days ago and I went through half of the book so far. Very comprehensive description of hiking trails which are divided into region and season. This book has took my excitement of visiting Slovenia coming April to altogether different level.Thanks a lot, I'm happy I made this purchase.4Stars because I have not finished it and will update my rating once after my trip.
