Willow Tree Angel's Embrace Ornament, Sculpted Hand-Painted Figure

My sister-in-law (sister) and my brother lost their first baby. I try to find a special "Angel ornament" for one of her +\- 55 trees indoor when we go out. Angel tree, my favorite. Well, I kept going back to this one, it just said everything I was feeling. They don't really talk about her too much since 1971 (newborn, seemed so healthy but only was with them not quite a day), but she's always on my mind when I go out there. I checked with my nephew to see what he thought and he said "sure!" All I needed to know. This gorgeous carved Angel holding a baby says everything I always wanted to say and does so much more. What a talent and her studio is in our City proper, so received it next day. I love, 💘, love it!!!

I love this ornament. I got it for my mom who is a grandmother and it’s the perfect addiction to her tree. I used to always get these every year from my mom so this made it so special to give to her this time.

I got this for my wife because we just welcomed our first grand baby. She has other figurines but thus is the first ornament. She really likes it and the quality and craftsmanship is just as expected. It also came securely packaged and arrived quickly.

My husband found this and wanted to use it as a memorial for a lost pregnancy - it had him in tears (at work, mind you) as soon as he saw it, mostly because the child in the ornament is cuddling the angel in the exact same manner that our Rainbow Baby cuddles into my shoulder. He shared it with me and I, too, was in tears almost immediately. Aside from the sentimentality, this ornament is the perfect ornament for a Christmas tree - it's delicate, but sturdy. It's the perfect size and SUPER lightweight. I was a little worried about this as Willow Tree products are made of solid wood and tend to be very heavy. The angel's wings are made of wire, but will hold up to being pushed on with a small amount of pressure. If you have little ones around, don't worry - I'm pretty sure this ornament would easily withstand falling off a Christmas tree (although probably not being accidentally stepped on). I'll definitely be keeping the box it came in to store it - the shape of the ornament is cut out of the included styrofoam perfectly, so I'm not the least worried about it being stored safely throughout the year when not on my Christmas tree.

I had bought another willow tree figure for my wife when our baby was newborn, and this was a perfect follow up. It looks beautiful, but the wings were rusted and breaking off. That's fine, because I didn't like the wings on there anyway (kind of made me think this was more like a deceased person serving as an angel, which is not what I was going for), so I took them off and replaced the eyelet to the back so it hangs from the back instead of the head.

My wife is an avid collector of anything Willow Tree. Over the years I have bought her numerous Willow Tree items as gifts. Well this year we had a child and could not pass this ornament up. She opened it up this evening and fell in love with it right away. The build quality is great and the craftsmanship is what you expect from a Willow Tree product. If you or someone you know has had a child this is the perfect gift for them. I would highly recommend this ornament!
