Mister Max Anti Icky Poo Pet Urine Enzyme Cleaner & Feces Odor Remover, Enzymatic Cleaner for Dog & Cat Urine, Pet Odor Remover Spray, 1 Gallon (Original Scent)

As someone with a major cat urine problem and have gone through gallons of this stuff, I thought it’d be helpful to leave a realistic review and share my story. I recently moved to a different apartment and the previous tenants had a cat. There was tons of cat hair around the apartment and wasn’t very clean overall, but I figured “no big deal, I’ll just clean it up and it’ll be like new” (spoiler: wasn’t the case at all). Another thing to mention is the carpet was replaced in the whole unit, except ONE room. I didn’t think much of it at the time because that’s a pretty normal thing in between tenants, but more on that later. Now, I’m not sure what sort of magic the landlord did while I was touring the apartment, as there was no smell of cat urine - at all. Didn’t even cross my mind. I move in a little bit later and everything is fine. Fast forward a few days and I notice a smell in the one bedroom where the carpet WASN’T replaced. I noticed my own cat was acting a little strange and sure enough I discovered he peed on the floor. Very foolish me at the time thought this was it, and having no knowledge on cat pee, I grabbed my carpet shampooer and shampooed the section of carpet where he peed. While I was at it, I figured, “Why not just shampoo this whole room?” Sure enough, that made it worse. This is when I went full detective mode on my hands and knees smelling every inch of the carpet while my cat is staring at me wondering wtf I’m doing. I quickly realized the smell extended far beyond where my own cat had peed. I ran to the internet and began researching the topic of Cat Urine as if I was writing a thesis on it. This is when I learned that when cat urine is rewetted, it reactivates uric acid to recrystallize and suddenly made sense as to why this entire room now reeks of cat urine - I just wetted the entire carpet with the shampooer. Two corners of this room in particular smelled extra terrible, and at this point there was no way my cat did of all of this on his own. I resorted to pulling up about a foot of the carpet and was instantly hit with the most rancid, stale, rotten cat urine smell. The entire carpet pad was stained, the entire subfloor was stained, it seriously was AWFUL. At this point, I connected the dots: the previous tenants had a SERIOUS cat pee problem, hence why the carpet was replaced. I went around the unit and smelled nearly every corner in the unit and another 3 corners smelled just as bad on the wall and baseboards in the rooms where the carpet WAS replaced. No idea why the last bedroom didn't get it's carpet replaced too, but it was obvious at this point there was a major problem, and if I owned the place, I’d be ripping out the carpet in the last bedroom. However, that isn’t an option, so I resorted to finding a solution that would work for now. The biggest takeaway is you need one very key ingredient to get rid of the problem: Enzymes There’s tons of enzyme cleaners. I started with Rocco & Roxie and the fragrance nearly took me out. Probably would have worked if I used enough, but only used 32 oz of it - not nearly enough and didn’t want to buy more because of the intense fragrance. I tried Skout’s Honor because of good reviews and realized once I got home it’s not even an enzyme cleaner. Sure enough, didn’t work. This leads me to Anti Icky Poo, and thankfully I think this will be my last product. (And HUGE bonus is that it comes in an unscented version - definitely recommend that version) One really important thing to point out is you need to follow the instructions, especially for major urine problems. It says right on the bottle you’ll need at least a quart for 1 corner and multiple applications may be necessary. Acknowledge this step! For me, this equated to needing literally GALLONS of this. The key to this product is absolutely dousing the affected area and letting it stay soaked. In my case, I poured about a gallon on one corner, let it sit for a whole day with trash bags on top to preventing it from evaporating, and after drying it was probably 95% better! Realistically, I’m sure there will always be some odor in this case due to the subfloor being stained with the urine. It’s not a miracle product that will suddenly replace your subfloors soaked with years of cat pee - it just does what it says. This was clearly a problem that is too long gone at this point and likely needs complete replacement of subflooring. But, like I said, this isn’t an option, so I believe this product dealt with my issue in the best way given the circumstances. Maybe at some point I'll buy some more, pull up the carpet, and try soaking the subflooring, but thankfully, the room no longer smells like cat urine, and the only way you even get any hint of a smell is if you stick your nose directly in the corner. Overall, this product is really great. It does exactly what it says it’s going to. It didn’t rip out my subflooring and replace it, but it doesn’t claim to. There’s obviously physical limitations to a liquid product. But for most issues, this will do what it claims to do. Just don’t spritz your carpet with a decade of cat pee embedded into it and expect it to work, you really have to use it very liberally.

Awesome product! Both my sister and I have been using Anti Icky Poo for years. Originally we could only get it thru her vet then I purchased it for years thru Home Depot (which stopped carrying it) so glad I found it on Amazon. Good for both dogs and cats. Takes care of vomit, feces and urine. Removes the odor better than other "miracle" products and with a little scrubbing removes the color left after a pet vomits on carpet--or, our latest challenge, on the new couch. Both the cat & dog food we currently use has a yellow color when it is vomited up and this product gets the color out of both carpet and upholstery. Yea Anti Icky Poo! Totally worth the money!

If I could I would give it few more stars. I wish I had found this sooner. This stuff works like magic. I bought a sprayer from Home Depot and sprayed the area where my cat had urinated in, the smell was unbearable. I sprayed it in the carpet heavily and left it overnight. This morning - there’s barely any smell. I will see how long the smell stays away and possible do another round.

This is our go-to pet cleaner. It’s great at getting rid of odors, which is very necessary when you have a pup who sneak-pees in the house. Especially if you spray the offended item and let it soak for a while before washing. I also use it as a presoak for carpet accidents. It’s not so great for stains that have had some time to age. But I love that the fragrance isn’t overpowering and overall, it gets the main job done.

I recently went through the ordeal (and eventual death) of a beloved cat whose kidneys were slowly degenerating. She was my wonderful companion for 16 years and during her illness, she began urinating in many places in my home. I was lucky that she preferred to go on things (clothes, etc) rather than straight on my carpet, but I still was spending an inordinate amount of time trying to clean a variety of items of cat urine. I tried all kinds of things recommended online (various vinegar or baking soda recipes, Nature's Miracle from Petsmart, Simple Solution) and was finally recommended Anti Icky Poo by a friend whose cousin works at cleaning crime scenes. All I can say is wow. It works. I've used it on leather, tile floors, wood floors, carpet (scrub lightly to break up the salt crystals that form on the surface of the carpet fibers just prior to use), and various fabrics, including a pair of silk pillow covers. There has been no damage, and it has worked on them all. I've used it in my laundry (put the clothes in the washer, let the water fill to where it just covers the clothes, dump in a cup of Anti Icky Poo, let sit for 24 hours, wash as usual). I've saved luggage. I've saved my leather messenger bag. I've used it on cat urine, cat vomit (hairballs), residual cat feces when one cat missed the litter box (to keep others from deciding to do the same), and even plain old food stains on my own clothing. Oh, and you know how athletic T-shirts can eventually get yellow sweat stains under the armpits or around the neck? Guess what? Sweat is organic, and Anti Icky Poo loves organic stains and smells. It has also worked on grease spots when I accidentally dropped a bit of chicken bolognese on my chest--because olive oil is organic. I have soaked a featherbed in it after my cat peed on it, let it dry, then taken it to the cleaner for a wash in their industrial washer--no odor when I took it in to the cleaner, and no odor when I got it back. My biggest test was with a shirt I found after my poor cat passed away. It was buried at the back of my closet, and the poor thing had apparently been using as a litter box for quite awhile. It was covered with dark, smelly urine stains that had clearly been layered onto it over months. I have no idea how I didn't smell it earlier. In any case, I decided I wasn't going to be able to wear it again (psychologically, it would have been impossible for me after knowing what had been on it), but I wanted to test out my Anti Icky Poo. I thoroughly doused the inside and outside of the shirt in Anti Icky Poo, rolled it up into a ball, and tied it up in a plastic grocery bag. I did this once a day for three days. I could see that the stains had faded more each day. On the third day, there was no evidence of staining or smell left. I washed normally in the washer and dried in the dryer. The shirt looked and smelled like brand new. I still got rid of the shirt (like I said, psychologically I just couldn't wear it), but I was absolutely amazed. After the fact, I wished I had taken before and after photos. It was that drastic. The secret to this product is that this has both bacteria and an enzyme in it, and the two work together. For them to work, you HAVE TO KEEP THEM ALIVE. Which means you MUST keep the solution WET for it to keep working--once it dries up, the bacteria (which is what is eating away the decaying matter that causes the smell) dies and thus quits working. And you have to give it time to eat everything away. It's not a masking product that works immediately by covering with perfume--it actually completely gets rid of what it's working on by eating it up over time. It speeds up the decay process, which is what creates the smell, so things definitely get worse before they get better, but if you give it time and make sure you create the proper conditions for the bacteria and enzymes to remain alive and keep working (wrap in plastic, spray religiously and liberally, let it puddle, etc.), it's like magic. And, btw, I have other cats. Not one shows any sign that it smells any trace of odor on anything I've treated. And none of them uses anything I've treated as a bathroom--they're all happily using their litter boxes. Anti Icky Poo = Good stuff!

Anti icky poo is the ONLY thing that works for cat pee. I have tried everything. I've tried nature's miracle, KOE, angry orange, you name it, I've tried it. The only thing that actually works EVERY TIME is anti icky poo. But there is a trick to it. Whatever you are using it on (blankets, couch, bed, etc) has to be kept wet with the anti icky poo for at least 24 hours. Sometimes longer. Do not mix the anti icky poo with water, spray it on just as-is, but to keep it wet for 24 hours you need to put plastic over whatever it is you're getting the smell out of. So I would cover my couch in plastic bags to keep in the anti icky poo or put sheets damp with anti icky poo in a garbage bag overnight. It sounds weird and I thought it would make mould grow but anti icky poo actually kills mould and bacteria. So make sure to use it straight, don't dilute, and keep it wet at least 24 hours, sometimes longer. I'm so glad I found this product.

This product is WONDERFUL. it has saved me from re-carpeting my home. It actually works. Great. Cannot recommend it more highly.

My cat trashed two counches by weeing and poohing on them so was desparate to find a product to remedy the situation. This product worked after many applications as the stains were very bad. Its expensive but it works.

WHAT ABSOLUTE MAGICAL product !!!!!! I’m amazed. Believe me I tried EVERYTHING on the carpet because my dog pooped on it couples of times when I wasn’t home and it’s a fluffy expensive carpet and I wanted to take the odour out. Nothing worked. BUT THIS ???????? He ahaha not pooped there since. It does not smell anything he doesn’t even sniff there since. The product smells great at first and then the odour disappears. It takes about an hour to dry completely.

It took 90% of the urine smell out of my couches with one application
