How do you necessarily 'mount' this device to your sofa? I just don't see any mounting instructions.

It comes with a bracket that you need to screw onto the sofa.

do these get hot? Do they need ventilation or can they be covered? what about at lower power?

They get warm but not hot to the touch. I don’t think you need ventilation under normal use.

My 150” is in front of my king mattress and box springs. Can I put plywood underneath the box springs and mount 6 or 8 of these under the bed?

ld think 6 or 8 would be way overkill. I have one mounted to the frame of a 3 seat couch running on a 100 watt amp and it shakes the couch as much as I could ever want. Yes your mattress will probably soak up some of the vibrations, but I think if you get some isolation feet and then mount a couple of these to the bed frame, it would give you all the shake you desire. You could always add more later if you think you need it, or for the price of buying 6-8 of these, you could get a higher end buttkicker system . . .
