**Q: What phisical dimension room is this effective in?**
A: I used this for pulling out the fumes from painting an 1100 sq foot basement and it was very efficient

A: Yes it is interchangeable in flow direction. 
I am using them for medical isolation as anegitive air pressure for Covid19 isolation. I have 3 going in three rooms.

The airflow is good and the size of the duct is large but, still have room to access the ladder. 16 inch duct fan would be too large for this.
