While I appreciate O'Brien's three-page nod to ancient cultures, she does non-Christians and women everywhere a disservice by encasing her work in Catholicism and referring to the divine as He throughout the book. Her perspective is narrow, when a book about spirituality could be so much broader. I recommend reading Jeanne Achterberg's book, Woman as Healer, for some perspective.
