It can be used by itself or you can apply other under eye products on top of it and it facilitates it's absorption. The patch are sheet mask like fabric material, some people might not find it too comfortable for the under eye area. But the essence that the eye patches are saturated in is very gentle and has hardly ever irritated my eyes or eye area. Would buy again.
