Not perfect finish all over, but for the price it's pretty amazing
It has a few rough spots in the finish, mostly around the neck joint, but for the price it was when I bought it will blow you away. Plays fine, I have found no uneven frets. No jagged fret ends sticking out to tear your hands up. It has a slightly chunky C profile which was perfect for me. Not super chunky, and not one of those annoying shredder D shaped. Just right. The frets do need a slight polishing but once you have it done bends are very smooth and no gritty feeling. I am not sure what the fretboard is made from, but it looks great in both color and feel. I added a little red mahogany stain which kicked it more towards a rosewood look, but up to you if you want to do it. Even the tuners are pretty decent. It stays in tune well enough for an old dude like me. The tone is surprisingly quite decent and has a nice range between treble twang and low end punch. I usually over improve many guitars, but so far I have modified nothing but polishing the frets and staining the fretboard. It is unreal they can make a guitar this decent and still sell it for this amount. If you're looking for a guitar to learn to play on, you could do a LOT worse for more money. Of course this is the golden age of the good cheap guitar. I remember when I was a young kid in the 70's. Cheap guitars were absolute dismal JUNK!!! This is no longer the case. I've bought Grotes, IYV's, and other $200 or less guitars in the last few years, and they have all been pretty well made.

Outstanding value for money, especially considering how great customer service was!
So look, when I ordered a 240$ guitar from Vietnam, (or wherever they’re made), I expected at LEAST quite an intense process to set it up. Nope. Quarter turn on the truss rod, and the action was *perfect.* The intonation, as far as I can tell, is spot on. All of the electronics function as they should. I mentioned customer service because with my specific guitar, (I’m sure they vary a bit and most likely this isn’t an issue on all of them), I had a rusty bolt on the bridge pickup. It works fine, but because I’m worried I may eventually need to replace it I contacted Amazon and they refunded me without hesitation an amount that would cover an aftermarket pickup to replace the one with a rusty screw. I did NOT expect that, I was more just trying to relay information to better quality control for other buyers. Like I said, it works fine and it’s just one rusty screw, but I love the guitar so much I don’t want to even stand a chance of the pickup going out! There are very minor cosmetic issues like a small gap at one part of the inlay and a little dent on the maple veneer under the clear coat, but for the price, I’m just astonished at how well it plays and how good it sounds. No fret sprout, humbuckers that don’t sound the least bit muddy, perfectly straight neck with 2 minutes of truss rod adjustment, and it even seems to come with good strings! Paired with my monoprice 5 watt tube amp that I bought on Amazon as well, I’m back to enjoying plucking around and jamming again. I’ve played on all types of expensive gear; hand made guitars, vintage tube amps, hand wired pedals, but with a new baby and a desire to save money, these products have made me feel like I’m not missing out on the real tone that I’ve come to expect from my gear and I don’t even feel bad for spending 240 (before refund) on a guitar and 160 on an amp. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Get em while they got em!

I wanted to love this guitar as it is next to perfect, so I corrected the action height, adjusted the truss rod as it had excessive relief. I changed the strings, intonated at the bridge successfully, tightened screws and nuts all around, the outside looks great with no issues, no swirl marks on the body except for some small paint splash drops, it has a good neck, fret wires were finished well, locking tuners work fine, I decided to keep the guitar and I created a Headrush Prime Clean Rig just for this guitar to hear how well it plays and it sounds very good. Now for the 4 star review. I was unhappy to look through the semi-hollow cavity and see how rough the inside build is, the holes that were made for the wires to run through look very rough and unfinished, definitely a "Rush Job", no sanding down at all, if you were to reach inside your fingers or hand might catch a splinter. The Basewood running through the inside looks like cheap wood, like they rushed through the process of building these guitars from the get-go..! The interior looks black and beige, with paint brushed just enough to hide the rough finish, but a closer look reveals carved out holes with a knife and not properly drilled, cleaned off or sanded. It makes you wonder whether the Vietnamese people are being under paid, not treated properly by the owner(s) and intentionally passing these guitars with poor to no "Quality Assurance"... overall giving IYV a bad reputation, since the many bad reviews for some of their guitars here on Amazon. "Your inner beauty will speak for itself, and your exterior will naturally complement it."

The IYV IPF-300 TSB boasts a stunning finish, with a sunburst-colored body that gives it a classic yet modern aesthetic. The guitar's body is typically made of resonant tonewood like mahogany, contributing to a warm and rich tonal character. The smooth contour and comfortable weight (5 lbs) make it ideal for long playing practice, while the glossy finish adds to its visual appeal. The neck of the IYV IPF-300 is slim and fast. The fretboard has a smooth feel, and the frets are well-dressed for easy playability. The guitar's neck profile allows for easy access to higher frets. Lowering the action and a new set of strings will give you a fantastic guitar ! Equipped with a pair of humbucking pickups, the IYV IPF-300 delivers a balanced range of tones, from warm and smooth clean sounds to punchy, powerful distortion. The pickups are versatile enough to handle a variety of genres. The volume and tone knobs and pickup selector switch are intuitive and responsive, allowing you to dial in the perfect sound with ease. No pesa nada.

I received this guitar in nothing more than a one layer cardboard box. Believe it or not, it was in perfect shape out of the box. This guitar is amazing. The neck is straight. The action was perfect (low) out of the box (exactly as I use to set action on my other guitars: at 12 fret => high E =1mm ; low E : 1.5mm). Intonation right on pitch. I changed string from 10’s to 9’s and intonation is still right on. Truss rod works fine but anyway no adjustment was needed. Bridge pickup = 12.5 ohm, and neck pickup = 9.5 ohm. Both pickups sound great. This guitar has a very good sustain. Maybe because of the wraparound bridge. I you prefer bigger strings, bigger action or bigger neck relief no problem. There is room to adjust any settings (intonation, truss rod, action). Nut slots are a bit tight for 10’s but perfect with 9’s. Let me tell you, QA guys at IYV know how to setup guitars. The fretboard edges are slightly rounded and make the playing very confortable. Fretwork is perfect. No high spots. Fret ends well dressed. This guitar is amazing. So... I polished the frets, oiled fretboard, put the strings, clean the guitar and... rock on! This IYV can proudly stand beside my Strat, Jaguar, Ibanez, Les Paul. 260$ incredible. Good job IYV 👍
