I learned my lesson! I replaced my pool suction side valves with the cheaper aftermarket brands. When the pool technician came out to help me trouble shoot leakage and poor priming performance he found all three valves were sucking air through the valve stem. All 3 valves had warped stems. I replaced with this model from pentair and the problem is gone.

I have a paving stone patio around my pool, with sand between the stones. The sand finds its way into the pool, which then gets sucked into the filter. It wedged beween the ball and valve housing of my original (seled/unservicable) drain valves making it impossible to turn, and ultimately it failed when I tried to force it back and forth. Replaced all intake valves with these Pentair valves, should the sand ever get stuck in the valve now I can just service the valve instead of having to replumb and replace all the valves and plumbing! :)

Had my 1.5" valves, some leaking air on the suction side with these 2". No issues and they are working well.

Great valve for replacing hard to operate ball valves, and they can be rebuilt should they every need. Price point is a bit high.

Worked with no leaks

Was incorrect and I can’t get a full return label. UPS won’t pick up with out it. They have stopped twice and won’t pick up as the instructions stated.
