What a wonderful tribute to Jim Europe and his soldiers in WWI! "Somewhere" gave me shivers when I figured it out with the subtle illustrations. I am giving this book to my fourth-grade grandson for Christmas.

This book details the contribution of African-American soldiers during World War I. It contains beautiful illustrations, short verse poetry and power messages. Excellent Picture Book about a lesser known infantry of WWI, the Harlem Hellfighters. They were musical, courageous, talented and forgotten about.#mustread this intriguing picture book about this amazing group of men who deserve so much more recognition for their part in the WWI.Written by by J. Patrick Lewis (Goodreads Author), illustrated by Gary Kelley and published by Creative Editions.

While this is pretty, it is pretty light on content. If you want to read a more rounded story, I’d recommend Max Brook’s graphic novel with the same title.
