desertcart.com: Dear Debbie: 9781464266485: Freida McFadden: Books Review: Advice Columnist With A Killer Motive - I can’t help but love Debbie. Sure, she’s a bit secretive, unpredictable, vengeful, and dangerous but she’s the best wife and mother around. I love the fact that she’s an advice columnist. It’s a twisted take on Dear Abby! Debbie has a family and is down on her luck. Lately, it seems her husband and daughters are also experiencing some unfortunate situations. Debbie is the person to have on your side if people aren’t being nice. I liked this book so much. I love all of Freida McFadden’s books. This one will surely be a limited series or movie. It’s a lovely disturbing thriller that I enjoyed listening to. Julia Whelan, January LaVoy and Scott Brick are masters at their craft. I have listened to other books they have narrated and they are some of my favorites! Review: Loved this! - This is the only other book of Freida’s that I have read, the first being the housemaid—which I loved! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a page turner from the beginning. I had a hunch of the way certain things were going to go, I was right to some aspect, it it didn’t lessen the enjoyment of the read. What it is/isnt. This book IS NOT some intricate weave of unguessable plot twists. So if you’re looking for that, don’t disappoint yourself. This IS an enjoyable, page turner, an at-home wife turned vigilante/female seeking revenge plot that was a quick, easy read. Perfect for me & highly entertaining. There were many areas of comic relief and found myself stifling my chuckles in order to not wake the house. (Reading early in the morning) Definitely going to give this to my 18 yo daughter to read, she’ll love it!

Mystery with a Twist!!
Dear Debbie was such a fun and gripping read! I picked it up expecting to read a little, and ended up finishing it in one sitting. It’s a quick read with excitement woven throughout, and the pacing keeps you hooked from start to finish. Every chapter made me more curious about what would happen next, and just when I thought I had things figured out, the ending delivered an awesome twist that completely caught me off guard. I loved how it made me rethink everything I had just read. If you’re looking for a fast, engaging story with suspense and a memorable ending, I highly recommend Dear Debbie. Definitely a 5-star read for me!

An entertaining thriller! Lots of drama!
I was really excited about Dear Debbie! I liked the idea of reading about an advice column and I always like a good revenge/good for her type of story. Right from the beginning I was definitely hooked on this family, Debbie made for such a nice main character to follow. I also liked the other perspectives of the story too but I was really drawn into this family. There’s a lot of drama and different things going on but it made for an interesting and entertaining thriller. While I was throughly entertained during my read I wouldn’t really say there was any plot twist moments that made me go “oh wow” or anything like that. When one of the major plot twist of the book came up I was actually a bit confused and once it’s explained it just kind of left me with an “oh okay” kind of feeling. I am happy with how things played out and I’m satisfied with the ending, I did really enjoy my time with this family and I loved the mixed media kind of elements that are included with the advice column.

Enjohable
Ok McFadden did it again. This author is a remarkable storyteller. For those of you that says her stories are predictable trust me you won't see this twist coming. Although I wasn't to found of what & how at Haley's apartment ( didn't enjoy that too much) but entertainment is for all audience and everyone can't be pleased all the time. BUT this was still a really good read. Thanks McFadden :)

Addictive perfection!
Frieda McFadden has a talent for turning ordinary situations into slow-burning tension, and Dear Debbie is another example of how she gets under your skin in the best way. This is one of those reads where you tell yourself “just one more chapter,” only to realize you’ve flown through half the book. The story pulls you in quickly with a relatable setup and then quietly tightens the screws. McFadden’s writing is sharp and accessible, making it easy to stay immersed while the unease builds in the background. I especially enjoyed how the characters felt layered—no one is exactly who they seem at first glance, which keeps you second-guessing your assumptions the entire time. What stood out most was the pacing. It moves fast without feeling rushed, and every detail feels intentional. The tension simmers rather than explodes, which made the overall experience more psychological than sensational. If you enjoy suspense that keeps your mind engaged and your trust issues fully activated, this is a solid pick. Perfect for a weekend read when you want something gripping but easy to sink into. McFadden fans will feel right at home, and new readers will quickly see why her books are so addictive.

Excellent Book!!!
Wow! What a great book and what a fantastic author. This book was really clever. It's really funny also. We got a little dark comedy going on here and it is so tasteful. The story kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat throughout. This book deserves all of the great reviews.

desperate housewife vibes 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I recently read Dear Debbie by Frieda McFadden, and I did enjoy it. I was pulled into Debbie’s world when I realized —she had that desperate housewife energy, a little wild, chaotic and slightly unpredictable to predictable, yet determined to make things right no matter what she may have to do. The way McFadden writes is so to the point; she doesn’t waste time with unnecessary clutter of details, but instead builds tension that keeps you hooked. Just when everything feels like it’s falling into place, she flips the story upside down with a twist that leaves you stunned. It was such a thrilling, fast pace and addictive read
