Fits perfectly in my Starbucks mugs...
As the title says, these fit perfectly in the Starbucks Modern Classic Mug, 12oz and the Starbucks Modern Classic Mug, 16oz , and really well in the Starbucks 14oz double-walled glass tumbler. I am also glad I ended up buying this Large Finum Brewing Basket, Blue instead of the Medium Finum Brewing Basket because the large is actually a bit smaller than I thought it would be... Actually, the size of the filter is fine, there's plenty of room for enough tea to make 2-3 cups if you want to use it in a teapot and still have enough space for the leaves to properly expand... however, the lid itself is not wide enough to completely cover most mugs larger than 12oz and if you wanted to use a cup that was small enough in diameter to be completely covered, chances are good that it might also be too small for the filter since the lid is only as wide as the actual filter itself, it doesn't extend out past the filter like the "handles" do. The only mug I know of where the lid ALMOST covers completely is the Starbucks Modern Classic Mug, 16oz ... I'm actually a little disappointed by the lid size because when I ordered it, for some reason I was thinking that it was much wider than the filter... Maybe I got the idea from one of the photos or the product description? I'm not sure now why I thought that. At any rate, the lid needs to be at least an inch or so wider than the filter so a larger mug could still be completely covered for better steeping and to keep your tea hot longer. Everything else is very nicely made, I especially like the extremely fine mesh which ensures that all but the tiniest particles will stay in the filter and not end up in your mouth. The bottom is flat, which is great because it means it will stand upright without falling over if you to use a cup that is shorter than the filter, and the lid also doubles as a drip-free holder once you want to remove it from your cup. All in all, I recommend this infuser, it is the nicest one I have seen at this price point. But if you do not like the idea of a plastic tea filter and want a metal one, then for around $7 more I would highly recommend the FORLIFE Brew-in-Mug Extra-Fine Tea Infuser with Lid , which does also have a lid that extends further than the filter. It measures 4" in height and 2 1/2" in diameter. The handles stick out an additional 3/4" from the filter which means it will fit cups that are between 2 3/4" and 4" wide.

Finum Brewing Large Basket works good for me with tea
The filter is working out good for me. I have a tea maker and the lid sometimes pops off the container holding the tea and then the tea leaves float out. You know what that means. Tea leaves everywhere. The tea then gets dispensed into a tea pot about 2 cup size. I put the Finum into a single serving cup and pour enough tea in to fill the cup. I have some tea that is very small, no big leaves in it yet the finum filter caught all the fine leaves. That is great. One of the most important tasks of a loose leaf tea infuser is to keep the leaves in the basket. Yet, making single cups of tea is not why I originally bought the filter. I want to make tea in quantity in a pan for my Kombucha. I have yet to do this but I'm pretty sure it will be ok. It should be big enough for a large batch and since it seems to be easy enough to rinse clean I can confidently make multiple batches. Although I have not used the filter much as I just purchased it, it is sturdy. The tea didn't have any strange flavors from the filter. The lid is good and that it doubles as a stand is nice too. I also used the filter in a cup that narrows at the bottom without any problems...The filter fit perfectly. Anyone who makes tea in a coffee size mug should have no problem fitting the filter right in the mug. From my experience with the filter so far I can recommend it. You would want to make sure the screen comes clean or flow could be reduced. There is plenty of room in the large basket for nice fluffy tea leaves. I have a lot of different tea leaves to choose from and this filter could get the best out of them all. I always disliked the tea balls that close in the middle. This filter presents none of the normal problems associated with a tea ball. I have not tried coffee in it but I don't see how it would be any problem. I guess the main thing for you to deal with when using this infuser is the temperature of your water and how you pour it into the filter. And that we all know is not up to the infuser. This is a simple to use filter without many drawbacks. I would like to say I will update with more use but I'm so busy I might not even get reviewed all the products I buy anyway. I'm a happy customer.

Great brewing basket - excellent for brewing large amounts of tea, NOT made in china
Note that I got the 'large' sized. If you want to brew a single cup or smaller batch, the normal or 'medium' sized is probably more appropriate. I bought this when I found out my fiance was buying pre-made tea at the grocery store to take to work. I was horrified at this, since that is pretty darn expensive. Besides, in general pre-made teas made by the major brands taste gross if you ask me. Tastes like chemicals, not like tea. I bought a nice big bag (1 kilo) of tea to go along with this. The idea being - I'll brew a gallon of it, and you take some of that to work every day. The manufacturing of the basket looks excellent. NOT MADE IN CHINA! Made in germany (I confirmed this on the box upon getting it). I was initially considering many of the stainless steel brew balls, but they're all made in china, and after months of use, apparently almost all of them succumb to rusting. I doubt this will be there case here. The quality of the mesh itself is great, it is clearly designed for brewing tea. It is pretty 'flat' or thin if you will. It is gold-coated to keep out any metallic taste or rusting. The mesh is also very fine, I did not notice any rogue pieces of tea leaf getting into what I brewed - even though I poured nearly a gallon of hot water through the basket and tea leaves. The tea leaves I had were quite small, so I was impressed at this. To brew a gallon - I filled the basket nearly full of tea, placed it into the top of gallon pitcher I had (just barely fits), poured in hot water over the tea, and let it sit in the sun for a few hours. Brewed a delicious gallon of tea - with no tea particulate matter escaping. Cleanup was easy - just wash out the tea with your sink sprayer. Note - this is also dishwasher safe! Last note is that the lid makes a nice 'coaster' for the basket itself to prevent dripping when you go to clean it out. For only 10$ - this is a bargain. Excellent quality (not china quality), makes great tea, dishwasher safe.

A great addition to my backpack - ultralight, easy, fast and good coffee while on the trail...
What can I say about these filters that has not already been said? They are a well priced, well made, high quality filter that does the job intended. How do I use these? These help me make coffee while backpacking - and why they are a great addition to my pack is that they are lightweight, make good coffee in a very simple process, and are durable and well made where they can be used repeatedly without the need for replaceable accessories, filters or parts. For those of you relying on "Cowboy Coffee" while on the trail - take a long hard look at these filters. One option, you can pour your Cowboy Coffee through this filter and take all the grinds / grounds out of your coffee, removing the cowboy and just leaving the coffee. Or simpler yet, just pour your grounds into this filter, then put this directly into a cup of boiling / hot water, and let it steep just like you would French press or tea. Just don't let it steep too long, or it will be quite strong! Experiment to the taste you prefer.... One thing to note - if you don't want your coffee grounds floating to the top of the filter when you dunk it in your water - then pre-infuse your grounds with a little water before dunking. Pre-infusion just means the act of pre-soaking the grinds, and letting them sit for 30 seconds before use. Google pre-infusion for more details. Another note - there is a smaller version of this filter which is even better for you ultralighters out there that still want coffee on the trail! Thanks for reading.

So far, best single-serving tea AND coffee brewer
I drink about 1 cup of coffee or tea a day, and after a test run with coffee, will be using this brewing basket for both, instead of our other methods we've used previously. This basket is so simple, works well, and the no-drip lid makes the whole brewing experience that extra bit more uncomplicated and pleasant because you can take your cup and sit down somewhere instead of standing at your kitchen counter, and then place the basket in the lid without having to deal with a dripping tea bag/infuser/coffee filter, and go straight to enjoying your drink. I also don't like having so much tea and coffee making equipment around in my drawers (single-use tea bags, tea ball infusers, coffee pour-over, box of coffee filters) and feel that I can simplify both the brewing process and my equipment with this one gadget. More advantages over other methods: for tea, the basket is not annoying to fill like tea ball infusers & single-use tea bags. For coffee, I like it better than a ceramic pour-over brewer/disposable paper coffee filter for a few reasons. A paper coffee filter can brew at least 4 cups of coffee at a time, so using a filter for 1 cup of coffee for just me is an inefficient use of the filters. Also, I need to use a heaping tablespoon of coffee using the pour-over method, compared to a heaping teaspoon using this brewing basket, and I feel much more of a caffeine kick since you can let the coffee steep as long as you want. I knocked off one star because when making coffee, there is a little bit of fine ground coffee sludge that settles in the bottom of the coffee cup, and on coffee rim (see picture). This happened when I used Kirkland Signature 100% Columbian Coffee - Dark Roast / Fine Grind (Costco), but this is similar to coffee sludge you get with a French Press, and to me I can live with it because of the other advantages. I just don't drink all the way to the bottom and I don't taste or feel any sludge. I may try coffee with a coarser grind to see if that helps.

Best infuser I've ever experienced!
I have been searching all over for a good fine-mesh infuser and this is it! I love using for single cups of tea or even finely ground coffee. It does leave the tiniest bit of residue from fine-ground coffee but it is still the best I've found for this purpose. I drink a lot of rooibos which is IMPOSSIBLE in other infusers I've used, but this one works great. I've bought something like 3 other infusers before this one and let me tell you I was extremely disappointed in the others--rooibos and even some larger-leafed stuff came right out at the seams so I would always have bits of leaves and things floating in my tea, but not with this one! I have also read that it's supposedly better for the tea or coffee for it to have room to move around and that's what this strainer provides. Most of the bad reviews on here are simply about the size so just make sure to check that carefully. The other review here with the video was very helpful to me. I actually bought both sizes since they were so cheap and I'm glad to have both. The smaller size is great for a single mug and the big one is good for a tall mug (like the kind that hold 2x as much as a regular mug). I was hoping to use the tall one for a tea pot but I don't think it would work for that because the tea pot rim is wide and the strainer is too narrow so if you're looking for that look elsewhere (I use a reusable gravy bag for larger tea pots). This thing is also really easy to clean as long as you don't let it sit and get crusty. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning but this thing really just needs a quick rinse and maybe a pass with a sponge right after you use it and it's good to go. I would also agree with others here that it would be nice if the lid snapped on in some way, but it doesn't really bother me as much. I like that it's detachable since I can just rest it under the strainer. Overall a great product and I'm extremely pleased with it!

Easily the best tea infuser style available, nothing else like it.
This isn't the first time I've purchased a Finum brewing basket. Ages ago I got a medium-sized one and that one still works fine, but I wanted a bigger size to better suit a mug shape, so I got the large size, and just like the medium size, it works perfectly. Of all the tea infusers on the market, Finum is peerless when it comes to this style. Typically, other competitor infusers are metal baskets welded together and they have a variety of small holes, and while they do work, Finum's brewing basket is one of the few, if not the only brewing basket with an incredibly fine steel mesh that easily lets fluid through and keeps solid particles away. If you look at things like the popular Oxo tea infuser, the holes just aren't as small as the Finum, which in some regard means tinier tea particles, and even fluid aren't going to travel through it as easily as the Finum. They still work obviously, but if you want something extra-fine, there's really nothing else like the Finum. The only bad thing you can say about the Finum is that the fine mesh can be tricky to clean over time, as you'll probably need to take a brush of some kind to clean all the caked up dust. Also, the Finum brewing baskets have plastic in their supporting frame. It's not an all-stainless steel construction like other brewing baskets, and it's a shame because I think Finum should really consider making an all-steel version basket, I'd buy it in a flash if they did. But at this point, I think I've resigned myself to accept that no matter what, I will be exposing myself to microplastics in some manner. If you can't accept that, then yes, get a stainless steel infuser, but if it doesn't bother you, then the Finum is a phenomenal product I'd highly recommend.

Good but not great
I bought several of these. I love the basket I can put in a cup- I make tea regularly and these work well. But the basket with the top isn’t as good. Despite being careful with the quantity I put in, the lid came off and I had to strain my broth. My thought is that the container should be larger, and the lid a bit tighter or better designed. Perhaps a way of fastening the top with a separate piece that comes on top and holds it. I’ll continue to buy the other baskets, they are all well made and easy to clean, but I will wait til I see a better top to rebuy this one. That said, I’d love to see one for turkey brine or chicken brine. Once the lid is fixed of course!

Works well, satisfied with my purchase
Product as advertised. Overall very satisfied. Delivery was prompt, though the box arrived rather crumpled. Item was not damaged, fortunately. Have used it daily over the past two weeks, found it to perform well: easy to wash, ample room for the leaves to infuse, and fits well in a standard coffee mug.

Tolles Teil!

Great for single cup of filter coffee
Easy way to make one cup of your favourite filter coffee, I use it most days. I tap used coffee grounds straight into the bin.

Ganz ok
