The Groovy Greeks Activity Book (Horrible Histories) Paperback – 19 November 2004

I bought this as an aid to teaching an Introduction to Classics to children and thought it was brilliant. There are lots of small useful activities here to reproduce and act as starters or amusing little quizzes to make studying the ancient Greeks more memorable and interesting. Any creative teacher would have no problem at all incorporating snippets of this book into their lessons as it is a handy supplementary tool.Agewise, I would say the book is aimed more at upper primary/lower secondary students, but there is no reason why some of the activities could not be used for older children.Topics covered included: Who Were The Groovy Greeks?; Gruesome Gods; Fight Like A Greek (Trojan War); Savage Spartans; Live Like A Greek; Groovy Greek Games (The Olympics); Even Groovier Greek Games; Die Like A Greek; Funny Food; Think Like A Greek; and Groovy Greek Quiz.I quite liked the book!

A good book with some interesting activities and facts in it. In good condition for second-hand and arrived promptly. Great for topic work.

Not really what I was looking for as wanted activities for groups of children but it is good for individuals.

Just what my son needed finish his project off with missing few bits but it was the facts I needed more
