Takes a little getting use to but does the job
The quality is excellent and is good value for money. I struggled at first to get the unit to grip as I found the upgraded plastic covers initially slipped on my particular oil filter. However, with a little perseverance, some double-sided tape on the filter to improve friction and the use of a longer torque wrench to apply the pressure and twist in one single action, the troublesome filter was released without making a mess. The trick is using one single action as grip is designed to release once the rotation stops. Once it took hold, the filter was not able to resist being released. It was the only tool that would have released my particular filter due to access and angle of application. Scissor type would not get in the space.

Reaching the parts other wrenches do not reach. If access is limited, this is the tool. Also nicely made

Is doing the job but is slipping some time is hard to use and need extra force to keep it in place.

Didn't work out for me. To slippery.
Didn't work for me. Just no grip. Ended up using my hand and slowly gripping the oil filter. Added no advantage for me personally. To slippery even on a clean filter.

Useless in small spaces with no clearance (Smart ForTwo)
Given it 2 stars because in theory it ought to work. But for me it didn’t. At all! On my daughter’s Smart ForTwo, no way. You need clearance around the filter for the jaws and on the Smart - there is none. Plus, you’re upside down and the thing keeps falling off. The plastic grips are slippery, so I tried it without - just as bad. Probably works on a more accessible filter maybe - but there really isn’t any grip. Sent it back.
