New piano students opinion
I’ve had my sl88 mk2 for about a week now, purchased because I wanted a piano feeling as opposed to my emu x61 synth feel since I’m starting lessons. Yea, I’m a noobie but the lack of reviews on this new product inspired me to write a general review as a service to interested party’s. I will start with the numa player app and the stageD piano which is free with this keyboard. If you are like me and can’t get it to recognize the serial number, it is case sensitive in spite of the fact they appear to convert the entered s/n to all uppercase , it’s not really and you need to use capitals when entering, frustrating. As for the sound, the stageD is the best available in the numa player, though I prefer hammer smith free still. I won’t get into key feel, (Fatar TP/100LR) since my experience is limited to an old upright I owned years ago, but once I found the right settings I was able to lighten up the required velocity to my liking and still retain a piano feel. I’m still working through the daw interface, and coming from the EMU Xboard I was initially disappointed with the 4 multi mode knobs plus 2 rotary knob’s for volume and max zone range and a pair of 1 axis and 2 axis itty bitty sticks but I feel once I get settings to my liking the assignable knobs will do, and the ability to connect and control apps mode is interesting, like a micro DAW preprogrammed to the app, at least with numa player. The ability to have usb audio routed back to the mk2 and then have two balanced TRS outs is nice, but the sampling rate seems locked to 44.1k or 48k? I forget which but the point is the low sample rate force’s you to either reduce buffer size or live with slightly higher latency, like 20 ms vs 10 ms or 5 ms at 96k and 192k respectively, but if that’s a deal breaker just don’t use the built in audio outs I guess, not a big deal as most midi controllers I’ve seen don’t offer it. And I’m using this with windows pc, Mac may be different as the mk2 supports some better midi 2 and maybe more protocols? Build quality seems rugged and simple, the 88 key weight is around 30 lbs and everything is wrapped in steel, bonus if you use magnetic accessories. For the price and paired with one of the free piano apps I have my piano needs filled. If you aren’t interested in messing with an iPhone or pc or iPad or sound module then you would need to spend quite a bit more to get this feel and sound I think from my research. I would have gone with the 73 key version if it was available but I’m impatient :)

Araştırarak aldım. Akustik piyano ağırlıklı tuşları, sade ve şık tasarımı dikkatimi çekti. Yalnız sipariş aşamasında seçtiğim halde Amazon paketinde gönderilmedi. Hasarlı geldiği için teslim almadan iade ettim.
