I changed shampoo a few months ago to a well known brand of shampoo/conditioner combo & have been left with a steadily increasing amount of conditioner very much stuck to my scalp, despite washing hair well. Its scaly, presumably not psoriasis nor is it itchy, but its definitely not nice & has caused noticeable hair loss.Happened to me before many years ago when using a very thick conditioner, my hairdresser recommended a coal tar shampoo which cleared the problem up.This time given the hair loss & my sensitive skin I decided to try this Black mud shampoo. To its credit even with just one use the scaling is probably 2/3rds gone so presume I can be free of the problem fairly quickly. My hair is fine & dry, this shampoo left it soft with a pleasant fragrance but a little dry and fly away. No itching nor any adverse reaction (from the one use). Iām loathe currently to add a conditioner given the problem was highly likely caused by the shampoo/conditioner combo I was using. One of the reasons why I chose this shampoo over others claiming promotion of hair growth & help with the problem of itchy dry scalp (not what I have but I do have a lot of scales stuck to my scalp ), was the ingredients. Particularly the inclusion of sea buckthorn oil. Sea Buckthorn oil is an expensive oil & I took this to be the reason why this shampoo was more expensive than similar ones including Dead sea mud. From the Amazon page for this shampoo it states that this shampoo includes Dead sea mud, sea buckthorn oil, yolks (is that egg yolks?) extract of aloe vera, rosemary, & jojoba oil. It also states it is SLS free.On receipt the ingredients on the bottle look similar to many mainstream shampoos ( a lot of chemicals). It does include dead sea mud and advocado oil. (which is indeed mentioned further down on the Amazon page). No mention on the bottle of sea buckthorn oil or the other ingredients listed on the Amazon page. The second ingredient after the main one (water, normal for shampoo) is sodium coceth sulphate. Albeit this is not strictly SLS (sodium laneth sulphate). The shampoo bottle matched the photo on the Amazon page so presume I have the correct product.Unhappy the ingredients are not as expected, but on the plus side the shampoo does seem to be solving my issue.Maybe my rating is a bit harsh, but when you buy online you need to trust the description. (a photo of the back of the bottle which could be zoomed in on would have helped a lot).Edit: Having used the shampoo for a while, its caused no sensitivity issues & on the whole I'm very pleased with it, will continue to use. Hope the ingredient list is corrected to show exactly what is in the bottle. As I can't use a conditioner I've added a few drops of high grade Argan oil in my hand to mix with the shampoo I'm going to use, no problems. Hair soft & looks good, using a scalp massager & together with the shampoo maybe, just maybe I'm getting a bit of hair growth back. Sad to see the price has gone up by so much.
