Lavnis Men's Trench Coat Wool Blend Overcoat Slim Fit Topcoat

There is WAY too much confusion about sizes for this coat. I ordered Mid-October, 2020, so this is after the size update. As listed, I’m 6’5”, 270 pound weightlifter. I wear a 50 XL suit size, and I have a 40” waist. The 2X insulated coat is tight across the chest and arms, and it was snug around the waist, when I was just wearing a polo shirt. There is no way you could wear this with a thin sweater, much less a shirt and sports coat, sweater, hoodie, whatever. I was really happy with the overall cut, though, because most French coats and car coats are huge through the midsection, and I can usually grab at least 8-10 inches of extra fabric, and I still have room. Also, this is not an extremely long coat. It hit me a few inches below the hip. It should fit over any suit or sports coat, but if you wear something a bit longer, you might have an issue. My dad owned a pair of clothing stores, when I was a kid, and the coat is generally well made. The flap on the inside pocket is a little floppy, but the hidden button holes, shoulders, and pockets are all well-made and show nice attention to detail, unlike some of the old reviews suggest. The shoulder stitching design is noticeable, but doesn’t scream for attention. I’d prefer a straight seam, but it looks okay. Color: it’s not khaki, taupe, or anything close. It’s chocolate brown. It looks good, but it’s not the color I was looking for.

I love this jacket. This is my second one and the first one lasted a couple of years. I get compliments on it all of the time.

EDIT: Everything under the line below is my original review, but I am amending the overall rating to a 4-star review because Vogstyle's customer service followed through on their promise to refund my purchase price. When I asked whether they wanted the coat back (necessitating further overseas shipping costs, which were not refunded), they said "not necessary" and supported my suggestion to donate the coat to a local coat drive. I did so, and trust that even though it wasn't right for me, the coat will be doing some good this winter season. _____________________ I knew this would run small, after reading previous reviews. What I wasn't prepared for were the utterly ridiculous shoulder-pads (not appropriate for a men's coat, IMO), and the overall strange cut of the coat. If you typically prefer a topcoat with a lapel, you likely won't like this...I decided to take a risk and the result was a coat that looks (a) a bit like it was intended to be a ladies' coat, and (b) a not-quite-right knockoff of a trendier design for a men's coat. Biggest problem really is the shoulders and, to some degree, the sleeve length. If you're going to take the risk, do as others have said and buy a size larger than you think you need.

Quality is excellent, value for my money. Comfortable, material is soft on the skin, ver warm and durable. Material is just comfortable

The jacket is very nice and cut very well. I purchased the thick quilted one. I am an athletic build 6'2'', 185lbs, 42'' chest, 32'' waist. A medium fits me almost perfectly, although the sleeves could have been an inch or two longer. My only real problem so far is the front buttons came undone and fell off after wearing it one time. 2 buttons came off and the third is on its way. I am going to have to sew them back on by hand. I can sew it on better in 5 minutes than the way it was shipped. This would be a minor issue if this happened months down the road, but to happen after wearing it for 15 minutes is unacceptable.

I was very disappointed when I received and tried this on. First, the color was considerably lighter than pictured. Second, the color didn’t stand upright as expected, but laid flat as it curved the base of my neck line. Third, padded shoulders should be a thing of the past. Fourth, the pictures don’t depict the buttons hidden when buttoned up. Fifth, the pattern of the coat opening doesn’t match the pictures (rather than a smooth, attractive line, both sides but inward and then straight down). Lastly, it is very stiff and unyielding. My hair is on the longer side and the first thing I did after putting it on was to reach up to pull my hair from inside the collar, only to be stopped by the fabric. I couldn’t get my hands to my head wearing the coat. I have returned it for a refund and will keep searching for something that’s more appropriate to my taste

I’m a lady and I wear suits to formal events so I needed a topcoat for colder months. I have an athletic build so I didn’t want some thing to boxy and all of the women’s coats are way too formfitting. I ordered this knowing that it was a great price and wouldnt fit exactly right, so I decided to take it to a tailor to get some minor adjustments for the perfect fit. I did just that and so far I am loving the style and the fit and it’s pretty much a custom piece for my formal wear. I am 5 foot five and 130 pounds and I ordered a M because the S was way too small when buttoned.
