Daiwa CC80 Baitcasting Reel High Speed

I have two of these reels now and they have both held up great! I also have several much more expensive reels and these Daiwa CC80’s do the job just as well. While they may not look quite as good as some of the more expensive options out there, they are absolutely some workhorse reels nonetheless. The drag holds tight on hard hooksets and they cast a country mile when set up properly. I wouldn’t hesitate to put a couple more on my boat.

I have fished since I was a kid, starting with a cane pole. Sixty years later I still love fishing. This reel has proven to be an absolute joy to use. Properly adjusted, I have not had any birdnests. I can cast long if I want, into the wind and not problems. I use this thing at least five days a week, sometimes for several hours at a time.I highly recommend this reel.

Pretty good reel for the money. The reel is a matte black and looks very nice. Drag clicks with each setting, spool tension knob does not. Not a deal breaker for me as the spool tension knob seems to stay at the setting selected. The reel is lightweight and very compact, I am able to completely engulf it with the palm of my hand.Casting is very smooth and backlash is minimal, even with lighter baits. The reel handles are flat rubber material slightly contoured for a thumb grip. I would recommend as a budget reel to a beginner to intermediate angler.

Daiwa CC80 Baitcasting Reel High Speed- I like these so much this is my fifth one. All working perfectly. Previous models had 6.8:1 gear ratio so I do appreciate the faster speed on this one. Would definitely buy more.
