Amazon Brand - OWN PWR Elite Series Protein Powder, Vanilla Ice Cream, 2 lb, Protein Blend (Whey Isolate, Milk Isolate, Micellar Casein)

So, if you read the reviews there tends to be a trend of some people kind of hating on this whey protein blend. I took a shot because I mostly use protein blends. OWN PWR was surprisingly good. I tasted the "Chocolate Peanut Butter" version.Now, this isn't one of those call your friends and scream "OMG" kind of proteins, but it was very good. It isn't chalky, it blends well and it goes down easy. The chocolate peanut butter is very subtle. I think that is one place for improvement in making it a little more flavorful, but its still great.One thing I found that makes it taste a lot better is to make sure to not use too much water. A lot of water tends to really take the flavor away where as some whey protein blends need it because they are too sweet. I would suggest 10-12oz of water as ideal, but just test it out and eyeball it.I mix my whey with creatine and beta alanine and it really doesn't mess with the flavor too much.I would like to see more flavors! I'd suggest cookies and cream, mocha and just straight peanut butter. Strawberry isn't a bad idea either. Birthday Cake would be nice, but no one has really nailed it without making it too sweet.

Probably the best tasting protein I have ever had. I normally buy Optimum protein, I figured I would give the Amazon brand a shot. I would buy it again based on flavor, calories, sugars, and protein per serving.I was a annoyed with one thing. There is a vacuum seal over the screw on lip, this is commonplace on all protein powder. Anyhow I took the seal off with scissors and the whole damn lid was unscrewed! protein went everywhere, all over the counter, the floor, and the tub. Seriously amazon? Rookie move, screw the lids on better at the plant. This should NEVER happen. EVER. There should not even be room under the seal for an open lid, second of all there was no foam seal between the tub and the powder like their is with most other brands to prevent moisture or tampering. Super cheesy, if you’re gojng to go into new private label markets don’t rush a cheesy product. This seems like a packaging fail to me.

I decided to buy this because Amazon rarely let's me down when they come out with their own product line. The price for the protein is great. It's a few dollars cheaper than the Gold Standard Casein powder that I normally buy. The taste is good but not better than gold standards chocolate supreme. I thought the powder mixed very well in the shaker bottle. I didn't experience the gritty texture as some others noted. I used about 12oz of water so I could have diluted mine more than the directions.which called for 8 oz. I was told that if I like a protein drink with water, to try it with milk because it enhances the flavor. I'll have to try it with this one to see if the flavor is better. If I like the results of the blend, it could be my new go to product.

I have tried numerous other protein mixes and would rate this one in the middle of the pack. It mixes well, is relatively inexpensive and is low on calories and carbs. The taste is fine. A little chalky but I have had much worse. If you really place a lot of importance on taste and do not care about the cost, I suggest MTS. By far the best tasting mix out there but you definitely pay a premium for the taste. This product is fine for anyone interested in the appropriate ingredients, low cost and acceptable taste.

I thought I would give this protein powder a try because it is an Amazon brand and my experience with Amazon branded products has been good over the years. While there is really nothing "wrong" with this protein powder, I did not think it worked as well as other brands I have used over the past 4 years. It tastes fine and mixes well with whole milk, coconut water and water (although in my experience it mixes much better with milk than plain water.) While solely based on my personal opinion, I did not "feel" that it worked as well as my regular brand, Optimum Nutrition Gold. I felt more sluggish when using this protein compared to the similar casein protein powder from Optimum Nutrition. There really isn't any price advantage either.Again, there was no hard science involved in this evaluation - just based on how I felt physically while using it and how my workouts felt. I have used protein powder for more than 5 years, so while not a long time, this is not my first experience with comparing protein powders.

I decided to buy this protein because it was on sale. I was not disappointed at all. I only like to use a whey / casein blend because studies support that it is superior to whey alone. So this product meets that criteria. Second thing I look for is the type of whey. This protein clearly labels the whey as Isolate. Awesome, good quality ingredients. Now it comes to taste. Many people complained about taste and it had me worries. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted good (chocolate). Not great, I have had better. But definitely a good flavor. After taste is a little eh... But not bad. Overall this product is great, especially for the price I got it at. I recommend anyone looking for a good quality, cheap protein.

Was a good deal so I thought I’d change it up. Usually do vanilla but decided to try chocolate. Kinda reminds me of the nestle instant breakfast for flavor. Blends not well with a shaker compared to other powders I’ve tried before. Also typically I can get away with 2 scoops to 14 ounces of liquid although it recommends 8 ounces per scoop and it still was chalky. Nevertheless you almost need a blender unless you doubt mind it a little clumpy.

So tired of seeing reviews that contain nothing except how the product tastes. It's nice if it tastes okay but I'm after results as a priority. Thought I'd try this and it's actually pretty good. The blend of protein is decent. There are certainly better and more expensive options which I've tried. Tired of paying $65+ for a 5lb container. It's slightly chalky but as far as recovery benefits I can't complain.
