CTS TAOT CUSTOM 525K SHORT Shaft Audio Potentiometers - 5% Tolerance - Set of 4 (4X)

If you demand the best made and performing guitar pots then this is it. These are one of those things that most guitar players never think about. If you’ve never experienced the difference a high quality pot makes it’s time you did.

Very high quality and very closely matched - none under 500K in this 4 piece set - This set went into knockoff Fernendes Les Paul - had to ream out holes a bit - no problem - EXCEPT - be very careful with soldering grounds tp backs of these POTs - don't know if it is me or if metal casing is thinner than years ago CTS Pots - but too much heat fried 1/2 my first set - had to order 2nd set - using lighter ground wire and lower iron temps - 2nd set OK - so wide tip low temp (500 F max) iron - use liquid flux sparingly to get good neat solder adhesion/flowChris

These CST pots are super smooth and are very responsive. Unfortunately for my application in an ES-135 with Gibson MHS low output PAFs, 50's style wiring setup with .022 caps, each pot has an extremely sharp taper from the about 8 to 10 with nearly zero taper below 7. YRMV with application. My results may be due to operator error/ignorance.

I bought these as a set of 4, but I split them up between 2 guitars: 2 pots are in my ESP LTD SC-500 and 2 are in an Ibanez MMM1. They both sound fantastic! The additional 25k (over your standard 500k) is just enough boost on the high end for humbuckers and I paired it with a SoZo .047uf cap on the tone pot to give it a really wide dynamic range. The audio taper is exactly what I was looking for; there's no harshness or abruptness to these pots at all.I plan on putting these in every single guitar I own and after having them installed for over 6 months, they still are absolutely perfect.

TOAT has the best CTS pots for humbuckers and P90s! The 525k audio taper and 5% tolerance ensures all pots read at least 500k just like vintage Gibsons. These are a must for 50s wiring. I replace all my stock Gibson pots with these. Nice smooth action with good turning resistance. These are not loose free turning pots. Excellent value and excellent quality from an excellent seller!

I put four of these in my 335. A gradual increase when turning either volume or tone. You can adjust easily with your pinky. These are 1/4” for guitars built in the USA. Come with lock washer. Worth the extra buck or two for CTS and TAOT reliability.

A bit bigger than the other ones in my guitar my about half so might be a tight fit on most strats trying to clear the guitar but they give off a great warm tone
