I use the mp3 audio files on the USB drive to make anki flashcards. I love the book, it's so detailed in grammatical explanations and will no doubt get you to a good level of fluency in Spanish. The Assimil series is one of the best if not the best course out there. Polyglots like Alexander Arguelles use mainly the Assimil Method to learn dozens of languages. My Spanish learning is already better because I have this book. I've been self-studying Spansih for roughly 3 months focusing on input (auditory and visual) to increase mh vocabulary. I've worked with an online tutor as well to practice speaking Spanish but I have wanted more structure for a while. I'm rating this a 4/5 right now only because I've used the book for just three days but already I appreciate how lessons are structured. Also the delivery of this products was much faster than expected (within 4 days of ordering instead of 8 days) which is a plus!

Great book for beginners

The accents on the audio CDs are more Spain Spanish accents rather than Mexican Spanish accents. For instance, Barcelona is pronounced more like Barthelona. Not a big deal but it is confusing to me since I'm from the U.S. and used to Mexican Spanish. There are other differences too but I'll keep it short with that one example. I'll keep the book and maybe use the CDs later when I'm generally better at Spanish, or if I decide to travel or move to Spain. I once had a Spanish teacher in AZ for an adult class who was from Spain and she would get angry when we had trouble understanding her accent. She refused to adjust to what we were used to hearing but expected us to adjust to Spain pronunciations like using "th" for "s". It could be a bit frustrating. I think Assimil should make that clear.

I only have good things to say other than I wish I started using Assimil products sooner. Straight forward, to the point you will find learning a tad more breezier using them. A strong intention will always get you fluent but the journey doesn't have to be so hard.My only one wish is to have the audio done in Cuban /Puerto rican/Latin american accents . As much as Spain made the language , I just love these accents.Muchas gracis por todo!

I bought this as a few of my favorite YouTuber language learners strongly recommend this series. I am still early in my learning using this book but I really like the method used and it seems sustainable over a long period of time. One thing that was recommended to me before starting Assimil is to have a basic understanding of the language, and that was definitely good advice. I did some self study for two months prior and going in already familiar with basic grammar (especially verb conjugations) has helped a lot, even a 1 page grammar cheat sheet would be helpful for quick reference if you're starting this with no knowledge. The usefulness of this with the USB containing all the audio files is what really makes this effective for me. I use the audio files for my Anki flash cards(strongly recommended to use with this book) and this USB takes away an incredibly time consuming part of making flash cards with audio.

Love how the language is spoken by a native speaker
