PROS: It's beautiful and has the feel of quality.The porcelain is thicker than is typical, but since it is for every day use that feature should make it durable. At first we thought we wouldn't like the shallow soup bowls, but they're actually very useful. At some point it would be nice to add coordinating deep bowls for when they are needed. The cups fit well in our (Saeco) espresso machine. It''s great that the set has saucers, they are a tradition that should not be abandoned. Food looks appetizing on the white, something I didn't anticipate when we bought the set. The set this replaced did not have that advantage. CONS: The egg holder and spoons aren't suited for Americans, they may be too small to be useful anywhere. If there is a set that doesn't include them and is cheaper, that might be a better way to go. There is a possibility to try them out as stands for small candles, or something else if you're creative. The little spoons for the eggs could be useful for espresso, but mostly they aren't all that understandable either. We haven't figured out the reason for the small piercing at the end of each, so we've used it to string the extras together. The the napkin rings are a bonus, but will only get occasional use. Finally, there aren't serving pieces, but that problem may be resolved with coordinating other brands and colors. BOTTOM LINE: It's a pleasure to have something different, strong and well designed.

I love these so much I want to buy an additional set. I wish it came with something different from the egg dishes
