ISO 9001:2008 for Small Businesses 5th Edition

It is a book that provide the reader a practical and and easy to understand approach . I like the use of diagrams to explain the concepts of ISO 9001 in structured manner , part by part illustrations of each topic , relations to other ISO standards,detailed explanation of the the content the standard, etc . It is full pack with clarity- on a possible questions specially for those who want to adopt ISO in their business operations. A detailed examples of a full set of a quality management systems even make it very plain to me. I recommend also to those quality professionals or starting in the field of quality management.

I did my research and looked for the available references for ISO 9001 and Ray Tricker's book was the one I chose, it was the best decision I have made. In addition to the downloadable link for QMS templates it has, I found it the most informative, useful and easy to use to build-up a quality management system for my organization. The flow-charts and tables in between paragraphs makes interesting to read and easy to understand the processes required to get ISO certified. It is the most user-friendly reference I have found and I would highly recommend buying it.

I bought this book as a supplement to our hired consultant as we began our ISO implementation back in 9/14. At first, ISO seemed daunting and tedious, but as we went through implementation and everything started to make sense, this book became more and more valuable.This book has made our implementation process, and my understanding of the QMS as Management Rep., much smoother. It is a great reference source, and adds a great deal of substance to the Standard.The customizable QMS material is well worth the purchase and download. I have corresponded with the author, and he was very helpful and willing to offer advice.I would recommend this book to anyone implementing ISO 9001 in their business. We are a small company, and this book is now "gospel" for us.

Great way to start a Quality Manual for any small business in need of a start to I S O

I purchased this book so that I could get access to the sample QMS and customize it per the guidance in the book, rather than start from scratch. I have followed the instructions given in the book and reached out to the author multiple times (5 times beginning on 11/4/15). I have reached out to the publishing company too. So far, I have not received an acknowledgement of my messages, let alone the link to the sample QMS that the author promised in the book.This is very disappointing. Seems to me that, if you are going to promise access to something to purchasers of the book, you should follow through on that promise.If I had received access to the files, my review would be different. If I receive access in the future, I will update the review but the reason for the delay will need to be compelling to overcome my current frustration.UPDATE: After purchasing the book in November of 2015, I finally got access to the files that are supposed to come with the book in September of 2016. Unfortunately, my need for the files has passed as I have already been through the ISO certification process. The explanation for the delay apparently resides with the publisher, not the author, and Mr. Tricker was eventually able to resolve the issue. I will raise my review from 1-star to 3-stars based on the author's efforts but I cannot bring myself to raise it any higher when the publisher prevented me from being able to leverage the value of the supporting files, which was the main reason I purchased the book in the first place.

Looking for material to help me understand ISO, I bought this book. It was not what I was looking for. The organizational structure of the book still eludes me. The author did a poor job of taking a complex subject and making it simple. The graphics abounded but seemed to conflict with one another. The book might be helpful for those more familiar with ISO and looking to implement it in their organization. The inclusion of an actual ISO Quality manual and related documents was a good idea.

I run a very small business working for some very big clients. Keeping up with the (big business) compliance expectations of our clients with our (small business) resources has been a constant struggle.I had worked under ISO9001 quality systems in the past and have a good appreciation of the requirements (and benefits) but there is no way I could write a QMS from scratch. In this book Ray Tricker provides all the resources needed to make significant progress on developing a QMS without needing to pay for expensive consultancy (although external consultancy may still be necessary to achieve final compliance and certification). In my opinion, the fully editable example QMS alone is worth 100 times the price of the book.As one would expect it gives the reader a clear understanding of what is required to achieve ISO9001 compliance but it also provides a useful tool to help you look at your business in a different way. So even if ISO certification is not a high priority, this book will still help you to think about those business processes that really add quality and value for your customers.I would not hesitate to recommend this. It is so refreshing to find a resource that is genuinely designed to help small businesses and not just as a vehicle to sell consultancy.
