I use this 2625 lbs double-sided magnet fishing kit regularly for my magnet fishing adventures along the Chattahoochee River and Lake Lanier here in Georgia, and it’s been an absolute game-changer. Not being my first magnet, I knew what kind of pull or feel it should have. Supposedly, this is about twice as strong as a previous magnet lost during magnet fishing. It had good pull but felt like it wasn't what I thought the advertised pull should have been, testing it out on various items. Then I stuck it to my anvil. Big mistake. Of course, the pull depends on the amount of ferrous material in the object, and since the dense, heavy anvil was nothing but steel, the magnet truly showed its colors. I almost didn't get it back off, having to use physics to my advantage. Anyway, I will probably upgrade the included rope to something better sooner than later but everything else seems good. I may just use the rope on grapple hook instead, as it will see less use than the magnet. I appreciate that there are two eye bolts, in case I ever want to switch over to dragging instead of lifting. I'm still thinking that through on whether or not to leave the lifting eye in place. We'll see. Overall, I'm pleased with the few times I've used it so far. I'll let you know if anything changes. Of course it is going to get chipped up, scratched and even start to lose the coatings. That's the nature of throwing objects into a wet, angry environment.

Powerful magnet! My daughter caught a lost crabtrap out of a Southern Louisiana lake. These traps are made of basically chicken wire with a rubberized coating. It takes quality in magnesium to pull off such a task.

The product is a good product and it works well however was just a few hours of use magnet fishing. The rope started frying and coming apart and now it’s unusable I could cut off what started frying but then I’m gonna be too $hort to use efficiently but for the price it’s a great starter kit and works good. I just gotta go to Home Depot now and buy a better rope like a climbing rope. if the rope was a little more quality, I’d probably give it a four or a five star, but I have to replace the rope after one day of use so three stars it is.

Bought this for my hubby and he was delighted with the whole package. Very useful carry case to keep everything together. A powerful magnet too and handy grappling hook. I just worry about how much junk he will catch and bring home.

Was excited to give this my little boy, but when it arrived the box was smashed, but I decided that didn’t really matter… However it was also missing the glue and hook - not to worry, I’ll try the magnet - completely useless! - so decided to return it for a refund.
