However, if you are having issues with over heating and you hear your fan always running. I would replace the battery. Mine was over heating and the fan was always on. I replaced the battery and it's like a new MacBook Pro. **Q: It works on my hp-f205dx laptop?** A: The HP model you have there came with a 500gb Sata II 5400rpm drive while this newer model series is a 7200rpm Sata 3 6gb performer that will be backclocked somewhat to match up with the older Sata II bus as well as provide the faster access time simply from being a much faster drive to begin with. You won't get the Sata 3 performance however. But the drive will still work on the Sata II bus.
