Like everything about this product. It is backed by excellent instructional video directions for fitting. Fits perfectly first time. Has transformed the operation of my ageing iMac. Wished I’d upgraded years ago but thought it might be beyond me. Wrong! It’s simple if your machine is the one with the removable grill on the bottom edge, or possibly the removable trap door on the back. Did but the anti static bracelet just to keep the chips safe.

You can depend on Crucial or Kingston ram. Bought this to upgrade my iMac. Normally would buy from Crucial but they would take 5 days to deliver as they are in Jersey. Amazon delivered next morning. Suggest you go to Crucial site, make sure you are getting the CORRECT ram for your computer and then copy and paste that description into Amazon to ensure you are ordering the correct ram. IF descriptions match then you cannot got wrong. Like Apple, it just works. Happy with Crucial upgrade iMac much faster and very easy to install.

Arrived on time with Prime. Well protected in an outer cardboard sleeve and inner retail blister pack. The memory chips were easy to remove from the blister pack and slotted straight into my macbook. They were recognised as soon as I switched the macbook on (after usual start up checks) and some applications definitely appear to open and run faster. This is well made, good quality memory that I have come to expect from Crucial (I have used their memory chips in several PCs before) and I have no hesitation in recommending this product.

I wanted to upgrade the Ram on my 27" iMac as it's performance was beginning to deteriorate a little. Initially I had attempted to save money by buying cheaper brands of RAM modules but this proved unsuccessful. The first pair of modules that I bought, from a high street retailer, were not the right spec's even though I had been assured that they were (I'd not taken my glasses with me so was reliant upon the salespersons advice), so these needed to be returned. The second pair that I had purchased were remarkably cheap and would have been great if they had worked but one of the two modules was faulty so these were also returned. Eventually I saw sense and ordered this pair of Crucial RAM modules (which exactly match the pair that I had already installed). Delivery was very quick, the modules were well packed and there was no problem with installation (the cheap modules had been a very tight fit into the RAM slots). I ran various tests on the modules once they were installed, including the Apple Hardware test and Memtest and they passed with flying colours. Going by the previous pair of Crucial modules that I installed just over 3 years ago I do not anticipate any problems arising. I can also rest easy in the knowledge that Crucial offer a lifetime warranty on their memory modules - unlike some manufacturers. So, whilst I'm sure that many people will have had success with buying and installing other brands of memory modules into their computers, from now on I will only be using Crucial. This is based on the fact that (touch wood), I have not experienced any problems with their products to date and, when it comes to price, they might not be the cheapest on the market but with modern technology you do appear to get exactly what you pay for.

My Mac had been slowing down for some time (I bought it in 2011) and people were trying to sell me cleaning tools or even a new Mac but on checking the setup (apple logo, top left; About this Mac; Memory) I saw I had only 4G of memory with spare memory board slots. I bought 8G of new memory (2x4G boards) and following Youtube videos, installed them in 5 minutes. Effect - instantaneous. Much quicker response times - no hanging around waiting for things to happen.

Using the RAM right now. Upgrade from 4 GB to 8 GB. The RAM was being used on its limit. Bought to change it now it is working perfectly. How to know: If your laptop or computer is slow and if you want to see if it is the RAM then press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, start task manager then go to performance tab and look at the MEMORY bar. If the bar is nearly full then you need to change your RAM rather than the CPU which will cost more.

i have a 2011 i mac that over the OS updates has been getting slower so i read that a update of the RAM may help look around for memory and settled o a 8gb update to raise it to 12gb in total so i decided on the crucial pack after reading the good reviews i fitted it as instructed one of the easiest jobs i have done 5mins and it has improved the performance no end all for a very reasonable price can recomend

It took a couple of months after my iMac computer began crashing frequently before an Apple hardware diagnostic test identified the problem as being a faulty memory module. The same test a few weeks earlier failed to find any hardware problems. I discovered there are many international manufacturers listed on the Internet for this part but no store in Canada keeps it in stock. A few online stores including Amazon all said shipping would take a few weeks. I found instructions from Apple on how to replace the original memory modules with these new Crucial memory modules. The problem of my iMac computer frequently crashing is now fixed. Through testing I found one of the original 4GB memory modules is okay so now I have 3 x 4GB = 12GB installed. In contrast to all of the online advice and reviews I did not notice any improvement in the speed of my iMac by upgrading from 8GB to 12GB. The Apple hardware diagnostic test full version that is needed to test the memory modules takes a few hours to run. Apple evaluated the trade-in value of my iMac as being $99. These new Crucial memory modules with tax cost me more than the trade-in value of my iMac. I hope my iMac continues to work for a few more years now that these new Crucial memory modules have fixed the frequent crashing problem.

My family tends to buy used laptops that are a few years old. Not the cutting edge in technology, but much more affordable for us. These older machines are still quite usable in the present because I always make sure to upgrade the RAM and storage. This Crucial 8GB kit has worked well for me so far. I've bought an 8GB pair for my girlfriend's computer, my parents' computer, and my own. Installation was easy every time (Crucial provides a guide; so do many others online) and I have had zero issues to date. Programs load and change focus faster, I can leave more tabs open in the browser, play more recent games, media opens faster, all with these Crucial RAM kits. I recommend this to anyone with a dated machine who doesn't want to drop $1000+ on a new computer, but still wants to get a few more functional and responsive years out of their computer.
