ハセガワ Hasegawa F-104C Starfighter U.S.A.F. Toy

I do consider myself knowledgeable regarding models in general and the F-104 Starfighter in particular.I also reviewed the Hasegawa 1:32 F-104G Starfighter so I will reiterate my overall 5 star satisfaction here: this model met and exceeded my expectations: excellent, well-detailed parts that fit together like a glove, and well-organized and packaged, extremely clear and detailed instructions, and a very impressive decal sheet. Kits like this are why I want to buy, build, and own models.

Highly detailed, no flashing, and decals are top notch. This model was a lot of fun to build. Parts fit well and there is a lot of detail. Decals allow for 2 versions depending on how much flash you want on your plane.Highly recomend.

Great detail. Some of the smaller decals were pointless as they were next to impossible to apply because they were so small. Otherwise it came out great. Hasegawa is a great line.

I've been building models for 60 years and this is the worst model I've ever tried to build. Parts fit is terrible; one part was missing with no apparent way to get a replacement; For several small parts it was unclear where they fit exactly with an arrow pointing at a general location on a small diagram; There was no option for gear up builds and the landing gear doors had to be highly modified to close them and even then, they were never meant to fit; There's not enough body putty in a tube to fix all the open seams. The refueling probe has pins on it that are supposed to fit into holes in the fuselage, but the holes are not there! The "Stars and Bars" on the engine nacelles are not shaped for the complex curves and will not sit flat without creases no matter what I try I am seriously considering tossing this and spending an unreasonable amount of money on the Kinetic model, which gets much better reviews. Seriously, don't waste your money.

For the price the Hasegawa kits should have better molding and fit. This 1/48 F-104C has poor molding of various parts and makes assembly challenging. ALso the shipping was poor and the kit was smashed into the box and likely not new merchandise.

I loved the detail and the several options to decal it. Looks great!!
