Great laser receive at a great price
I had a 4 year old Huepar Box-1G Laser Level 150 feet and self leveling which isnโt visible at distances in sun so I bought this receiver and also a kezers grade rod and in direct sunlight the receiver worked very accurately - I used it out a 100 feet for my project to calculate the grade slope and calculate the amount of fill material needed

Doesn't work in LED light
I tested this detector indoors in my shop, and couldn't get a reading except when very close to the laser. I tested it outside and it works well enough (I only tested it ~40ft away). I figured it must be my LED overhead shop lights interfering w/ the laser detector. Accuracy doesn't seem to be an issue, but it's sometimes a bit intermittent getting the laser signal. This is a budget solution, so be prepared for budget results. A proper transit level will set you back a couple hundred. A repurposed laser level + this detector is a decent solution to a problem I rarely need to solve.

Huepar
My old Dewalt laser level did not work well outdoors, with a range of maybe 20 to 25 feet. When the laser died after about 3 years, I got the Huepar laser and this receiver to work better outdoors. The Huepar visible light works about the same as the old Dewalt, but with the pulse mode and this receiver, I have so far measured 40 feet very easily and accurately. I have not tried any longer distances yet.

Better than a box store laser.
As milwuakee quality keeps going down and the price keeps going up its nice to find a company that builds stuff to last. This system provides the quaility. Of a unit with another decimal point on the price.

Don't waste your time, poor distance
Combo review of Huepar 902CG Self-Leveling cross line laser and LR-5RG Laser Detector This unit will work decently well indoors, thatโs about it. The single button interface for controlling all functionality is a bit of a pain but not that hard to figure out. For the cliff notes see photos. The reason for review is mainly the advertised distances. They are nowhere near what was advertised. 902: advertised maximum working range 130ft (not sure if thatโs visible or with detector) LR-5RG: advertised distance up to 200ft. I did not experience anywhere close to this. The furthest I got was about 72 feet and even then it was about 85% (it would cut in and out). 72 feet was with both units in the shade, see photos. Conditions: The weather was cold at about 25 degrees F but both units were indoors before trying them out. The day was slightly overcast. Iโm not sure I would call it direct sunlight but direct enough to cast somewhat of a shadow. I will likely retest in the afternoon or on a really bright day. In my opinion if the unit only works in the evenings then whats the point of the receiver? It should work well enough to sayโฆ level a small driveway or pad for a garage. In all situations I tried to detect the laser by slowly moving the receiving unit up and down while the receiver was facing directly at the emitter. If the unit could not detect both sides of center (up and down arrow) then it failed.

Great home owners item
You may want to spent more money if youโre looking for a laser to make you money, but for a handy man at home or light duty use as a hired handyman this unit would be invaluable to have.

Still working after 2 years
Worked for 2 days when leveling stone for a concrete floor. Then it sat in the garage for a year. Turned it on, and it will no longer detect the same laser that it worked with a year ago. EDIT: Turned out it was my issue. I had the laser in regular mode. This laser detector needs the laser to be in pulse mode to detect. Once it was on the correct setting, it worked fine.

No lo compre. No funciona.
Esto no es un buen nivelador. Los indicadores luminosos y sonoros no funcionaban en absoluto. Muy caro para no hacer nada. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.
