Device Can Nicely Augment Ring Video Cam Night Vision - But IR Lights Are Hardly "Semi-Covert"
Will update review as I gain more experience. Got it to augment Not So Great night vision of several Ring devices. Seems to work very well just testing in my kitchen with lights out. I was very impressed by the packaging and the instructions. The glow of the IR lamps, though, is hardly "semi-covert." I can easily see the glow of the 8 LED's from about 40 ft away in the semi-dusk environment of my house right now and with increasing distance, although each individual light gets fainter, that's a bit countered by the reduced FOV of the illuminator fusing the 8 objects into one with increasing distance. Nevertheless, if having visible lights on around the outside of your house is supposed to scare bad guys away, what's to complain about bad guys being deterred by a mysterious red glow from an array of 8 little objects in the distance. All in all, though, I'm very happy with the purchase and the 2-year warranty, which, of course, is only as good as the longevity of the company. More to come .... Update03: Unlike with the Ring Video Doorbell Pro (update02), the IR illuminator works pretty well with the original Ring Stickup Cam to increase the sensitivity of motion detection and the clarity of the scene. Attached is a video of the Stickup Cam resting on top of a car in my garage, the IR light on the AC compressor outside the garage to the right-at first the illuminator is off, then I turn it on and you can see the difference it makes. The illuminator is SO STRONG it blows out highlights of the subject close to the security camera and would be better positioned further away from the area that you want close-up, high resolution video. So a less strong illuminator of any sort would be a better buy if you planned to put the illuminator close to a proximal area of surveillance interest. Update02: While the IR illuminator certainly improves the distance my Ring Video Doorbell Pro can see into the night, a chain is only as strong as its weakest link-and for me, that appears to be the quality of the Ring Doorbell Pro night vision. Although things can be more clearly seen at a distance of 50 to 60 feet, the image is still pretty fuzzy and what's worse, for my purposes, the illumination does not enhance the sensitivity of motion detection. The various brands of these devices are FLOODLIGHTS. That means the foreground near the light is going to be very bright and although I can clearly see myself walking up and down my driveway 50 or 60 feet away, the relative brightest of my image compared to the blazing foreground is not enough for the Ring infrared motion detection algorithm to detect the difference my presence makes. The normal daylight behavior of the color vision in the Ring is quite different and easily detects me in the same position on my driveway. I also have the original Ring Stickup Cam and the Ring Video Doorbell 2, whose motion detection algorithms are different than the Ring Doorbell Pro. So I will check out whether the night vision of these other Ring devices can make better use of the good floodlight illumination the Tendelux (and many similar devices) provides. Update01: Further note is this device appears to be extremely similar to another product listed under a different brand name on Amazon Univivi IR Illuminator 90 Degree Wide Angle 8-Leds IR Infrared Light for Security Cameras. There are several differences between the products: 1) different brand labels on back of each device. 2) The other product has a different AC/12-volt adapter cord included, claims IP67 water resistance rather than IP66 for Tendelux. Other product does not offer a 2-year warranty, unlike the Tendelux brand. Other product claims only 85-ft night vision whereas Tendelux for 8-lamp claims 120 ft vision. Tendelux lamp life claimed to be 30,000 hours vs. 25,000 hours for other product. BTW, if the lights were only used 12 hr per day (~avg. night length), since there are 8,000 hours in a year, the lamps in each device ought to be able to operate 6.25 to 7.5 years before burnout.

IR floodlight works great for my cameras
I have several cameras installed around our home. All cameras have IR emitters, but I was getting IR reflections and not the distance I wanted to view at night. To eliminate these problems, I ordered six of these IR floodlights to place around our home. Since these IR floodlights are separated from my cameras, I no longer have any IR reflections, much better illumination around our home and clear night photos/videos. The shadows in the attached B/W photo show the difference this IR floodlight makes for night illumination. These IR floodlights will illuminate a good distance. These IR floodlights are installed next to 100 watt LED 'visible' floodlights. The color attached photo is illuminated by the 100 watt LED 'visible' floodlights. The areas illuminated by IR and visible light are similar. As mentioned in other reviews, the IR floodlights will have a faint red glow of the 8 IR LEDs when looking at the IR floodlight. After 18 months of use, I have been happy with the performance of these IR floodlights. I did have a couple of issues, but Tendelux immediately resolved the problem. I live in the Midwest and sent an email around 11pm with an issue. Within minutes, I received a response from Tendelux with the problem resolved. I have never had such a fast response from support, very impressed. The resolution required a replacement, the order was sitting at my front door two days later. You can't ask for more! In short, I've been happy with the IR floodlights, Tendelux support and would purchase these IR floodlights again!

Only the illuminator is weatherproof, power supply is not
I bought a few of these, however the power supply is not weatherproof. One burned out in about a year, it got too hot and melted the bag it was in then got wet. The illuminator is great for most cams, just make sure you know the sensor range of your cams, that it is sensitive at 850nm. You can see the light source at night, there's sufficient bleed into visible range that they are very easy to spot, however for the purposes of illuminating an area without disrupting neighbors or animal sleep patterns, they do the job well and are bright enough to get a bright video image almost equal to turning on visible lights. I also have one inside an enclosed space (garage); it is on continuously and the housing has sufficient cooling that the LEDs do not overheat and burn out, it is warm to the touch, but not hot. My other power supplies have not overheated, only that one.

Bought for a friend, WORKS PERFECT
My friend has an Oculus S, and he does not like to use his overhead light when he plays because its just too bright, but when he turns on the desk lamp, it isn't enough light for the headset to function, and when he moves out of his play-space to reach for a soda or something or view the room, the desk lamp is not enough to really see, so I looked at the nm of the wavelength of IR that the Oculus S uses for tracking, and the frequency the cameras respond to, this was close to the cameras but far enough away from the tracking to possibly not cause an issue. Well, It works, and works WELL. Bouncing the light off the ceiling illuminates the entire room, and the cameras pick it up so bright that they don't look grainy as the digital shutter speed and ISO is at a "normal" level. So basically in absolute pitch blackness with NO light on in the room other than this unit, he can see everything clearly enough to read his posters from across the room. ANYONE with an Oculus S or other VR system that gets funky in light that is too low, but does not want to flood their room with visible light as to not keep people awake or whatever, this thing, this thing is perfect and I am so glad they have these in this specific wavelength. ALSO if you are looking for a light source for security cameras, this little guy is awesome.

Value for money

Realy lights up my rural property so my cameras can see all the back yard at night. No more sneaking around in the dark without being seen.

There are two white lines on the glass. A long one at top, a shorter one bottom left, where the mask ends. Is it a crack? Or just glue sticking out? Whatever it is, it has poor finishing. Bulbs do turn on when powered, so it may be a cosmetic thing only. But still!

Works very well to shine the outside.

Best bang for your buck for LED IR illuminators. Very bright and nicely diffused so a broad area is evenly illuminated. Will definitely buy more.
