HITBOX 140A 240V Mini MIG Welder Flux Core Welder MIG ARC 4 in 1 Compact MIG Welding Machine Inverter Gasless Welding Machine(HBM200AZ)

I got this last week and within a couple of hours had set it up and started gasless mig welding. I wrote a review but thought I should wait till I have used it a few times and give it a proper check.I'd only ever done a bit of arc welding in the past and was worried that this would be a steep learning curve- but it wasn't. It's a breeze to use. I wish I had gotten one sooner.Here's some tips - the manual isn't brilliant , so you need to spend 20 minutes carefully getting it set up.Get the wire spool, but don't untie the end of it until you have put it on the spool holder in the machine - then when you are ready to cut with snips, grab the end so it doesn't flap loose , and hold the plastic spool at the same time to stop it spinning. Then thread the wire into the bit that looks like a spring , the wire should be coming off the spool in anti clockwise direction (ie from the bottom), and then start to get it ready to go through the 2 small wheels - then plug it in (comes with uk plug) ,power it up with button on the back , connect the gun/torch end and press the trigger and it will feed the wire through, all the way to the tip and leave 5mm or so showing.Plug the ground connector in and then you are ready to go. It's that simple.Use a few pieces of scrap to work out what power setting you need and then the machine pretty much does it for you in terms of wire feed speed. If you have it too high on thinner pieces you'll soon find out as it will just blow holes right through your metal. If you have it too low, you'll be able to just see that it's not penetrating and spatters around the surface of the metal.I am just a hobbyist and tinkerer , but I am pretty sure this is a very good , solid machine. I have a mate with a very expensive one, and he's always messing about with the wire feed and it blocking and sticking - so far this has had zero problems and 100% satisfaction.It's portable and easy to use. Only downside that I can see is that the manual could be better, and be clearer.It comes with a flux core wire spool that will last you a while too. The brush isn't great either but I think it's false economy with the machines that have a mask and brush and extras , as they arent great and you just want a good machine, which this is , no doubt.By the way - I ordered in the morning and it was here by 6pm the same night. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔍 Quick introWanted something a bit more versatile than having different bits of kit for different welding jobs, and this seemed to cover pretty much everything I was likely to need. I was half expecting the 6-in-1 side of things to mean lots of menus and messing about, but it's been surprisingly straightforward.🛠️ Getting startedThe LED display is clear and makes adjusting things much easier than squinting at tiny markings. I started with gasless MIG and flux wire just to get familiar with it before trying anything else. Took a little playing around with the settings to get things how I wanted, but that's fairly normal. Once dialled in it felt very predictable.🔥 Actually welding with itI've used it for a few different jobs now and it's got plenty of power. One Saturday afternoon around 2pm, garage door open and daylight actually good enough to see what I was doing for once, I ended up carrying on far longer than planned because everything was going smoothly. MIG has been the mode I've used most, though having ARC and Lift TIG available is really useful rather than needing another machine.⚠️ Minor gripeThere's quite a lot to get your head around if your completely new to welding. Definitely worth spending some time getting familiar with the different settings rather than immediately attacking something important.💭 OverallReally impressed with it so far. Feels like a proper bit of equipment, the digital controls are useful rather than gimmicky and having so many options in one machine saves a lot of messing about. Very happy with this one.

I was a bit worried with this in the beginning. And I’ll explain why in a moment. Let me say first off that when I had a play around with the amps on the set I must say I was quite impressed with the quality and finish of the weld.I was using this set for thin wall material 2mm but on lower amps there was a lot of porosity I can only assume this was down the the flux in the wire core not getting to the temperature required to shield the pool.Like I said though, after a play with the amperage I managed to make some really decent quality welds.Very happy, 4 out of 5 stars for me on this one.

Well, I only just tried it quickly on some scrap, with flux core wire, which I've never used before.The weld bead was so much better than my welding last year on my car with a 40year old Maypole MIG. I think I will do a lot better with this one

I wanted something versatile enough to cover MIG, ARC and TIG without ending up with three separate machines taking over the garage.That was the main appeal of this HITBOX, and so far it’s been a really practical setup. I’ve mainly used the MIG side, but having ARC and Lift TIG available means I can tackle different jobs without immediately looking for another welder. The controls are straightforward and the digital display makes setting things up much easier than the older dial-only machines I’ve used.It also supports both flux and solid wire, so there’s a decent amount of flexibility depending on where I’m working and what material I’m using. For a multi-process machine, it’s fairly compact and easy enough to move around the garage when needed.I wouldn’t pretend it turns me into a professional fabricator overnight, but it gives me plenty of options to learn and do more at home.Most importantly, I’ve avoided filling half the garage with separate welding machines, which means I still technically have space to park a car in there. Whether that ever actually happens is another matter.

Something popped when I first plugged in. SADLY I bought this in June 2024 and first turned it on in 2025 because lots of life as happening and I am brand new to welding. Obviously I'm past the 30 day Amazon warranty. The wire fee does not work. Have no idea if it's entirely dead or not. The front panel lights.

Works great for the small jobs not used it on anything big as yet but cant fault it so far.

Bought this as my second welder thay are great for the price don't let the size fool you a great little welder the only thing is the mig wire supplied is really low quality so go buy some decent wire and you cannot fault the performance
