Schlage Deadbolt & Door Knob Set, Georgian Knob, Satin Nickel

This set was extremely easy and smooth to install. No headaches. Schlage is miles better than Kwikset. Operates buttery smooth and secure. Totally happy with this purchase.

It fit our door

I installed this Schlage deadbolt and Georgian knob set on my outside garage door, where there’s no ingress/egress to the house, and it works well for that purpose. The finish looks good, installation was simple, and the lock operates smoothly. That said, it’s not locksmith‑quality hardware. It’s fine for a secondary exterior door like a garage, but it doesn’t have the heavier feel or precision of higher‑end locks. For the price, though, it’s a solid and reliable setup. A comfortable 4‑star choice for non‑critical exterior doors.

I purchased this to replace a 31 year old set that had worn out. On the old set you could accidentally lock yourself out. On this one as soon as you turn the knob, when going out, the knob unlocks. No chance of being accidentally locked out. It was very easy to replace the deadbolt and locking door knob. Maybe 10 minutes. I am very happy with this purchase!

Schlage is my favorite brand of door hardware. In my younger years as a Carpenter, I would work on Condos in the bay area, and all I did for 1 year was hang interior and exterior doors in the units we were remodeling. This is with trim and door hardware. Maybe hard to believe (even for me to think I did this many) but I have hung over 1000 doors with all everything included. You get pretty good at something with repetition. Schlage was the prefered lockset and passage hardware. Very quick and easy to install. No granted, I was do this for my job 40 hours a week, but my crew would race to see how many properly hung doors we could install a day without any mistakes. Now as far as door knobs were concerned, we got down to 4 minutes for an install, and schlage always worked better than any other brand. Plus... a little secret... you can get a copy of a key for a schlage, on a Baldwin key blank, which is a wider key and has more torque than a schlage key. A nice little extra for you client, or for yourself.

The lock set arrived, all jumbled in its carton, rather than being placed properly in the molded plastic inner container. So, it was obviously an item that had been previously returned which is absolutely no problem. Upon inspection, however, it was quickly observed that the product was defective. The outer and inner plates on the inside door knob were misaligned thus not permitting a screw to go through the two plates. I took the new latch and replaced the latch that was broken on my original 26 year old Schlage lock set. I will dump the rest of this set rather than go through the hassles of returning it with a missing part.

Works well on my door

Deadbolt works fine. Handle lock does not. Appears to be crooked or misaligned. Could not get key into it, nevermind turn to lock or unlock. Requested refund.
