I like to keep my bedroom door closed, but our (recently adopted) cat likes to go in and out of the room when we are asleep, so I was looking for the right cat entrance to put on our bedroom door. This one was it! Installation is easy, my husband and I installed it in a few minutes (with the right tools) and it is made fairly sturdy. It took a couple of times of encouraging and pushing our cat through, for him to realize that it was an entrance for him. It is a fairly big opening (larger than I have ever seen before) and I don't anticipate our cat outgrowing it at all! It has made our lives so much easier, since we don't worry about opening or leaving the door open when our cat needs to come in or go out of the room. I have not had to clean the removable brush, but I think that is a great feature and it is easy to pull out, you will need to get down on the floor to get a good angle. Our cat likes it because he can dart in and out of the room when he pleases and we like it because we can keep our room door closed, as we like it! It is a win-win!

This cat door was so easy to install! It took me less than 10 minutes to install from start to finish, and it looks great. I was so sick of using a baby gate to keep my giant dog away from cat's food... and from sneaking into the litter box to grab whatever he could get to. Gross, I know. My cat is almost 14 and the door was something he had never used prior. He ran through it right away and seems to enjoy the brush as he goes through. Highly recommend!

This is terrific. I had my handyman install it because I don’t have a Skil saw. It was very easy. It took less than 15 minutes. It looks great, and works like a charm. I wanted to be able to shut my basement door and still have the cats be able to get down to get to their litter box in the utility room. Love, love, love this little door. Really slick. I especially appreciated the little rubber covers for the screw holes. The unit looks nice, and the cats are loving it!

First the install. Comes with a template you can put n your door and trace out to give you a line to cut with your jig saw. Major issue i had while cutting this is that the bottom of the cat door cuts through the solid board that makes up the frame of the door. The beginning of the cut it strait up, but then turns sharply to make up the curve (all still in the frame part of the door). this was difficult with a jig saw as the change from vertical to the curve wasn't gradual. After i started into the curve, once my saw reached past the frame board, the saw jumped forward and much quicker causing a not so perfect cut. Luckily the cat door covered all of the imperfect cut, but even if i had cut it perfectly, there would have been way too much cut out (could be almost 1/4-1/2 inch less and fit snugly). I chose this cat door due to one of my cats being a bit bigger than she should be. After installing it, i find my cat can fit, but she has to almost crawl though (would be better if it was taller and not as wide). Due to this she rarely uses the cat door. If the cat door was like I detail below (higher up) I feel she wouldn't mind it much. Overall I have no major complaints. I probably wouldn't buy this again though unless they made it so it was a full frame that mounts above the doors wooden framing (imagine a D facing up, instead of the C facing down that it is) as I worry about my child pressing too hard on the edge of the door and cracking it due to it no longer having a full frame. Pros: Larger cat can fit. We have had this installed for a little over a year now and it has held up very well. Our two cats love it - one 14 lb long hair and another at 9 lb. Quick escape from the dogs into the laundry room where we keep their food bowls and litter boxes so the dogs can't get to them. The brush option is REALLY helpful to keep our long hair from matting. Fantastic customer service! Our new puppy pulled out bristles and chewed the brush (ah, puppies), so I reached out to the company and they were able to send us a replacement! Excellent service!

After reading reviews, I was a little apprehensive about height of the opening. My larger cat is a good size, but I guess he is average really. The area I was planning on using has a door that was cut a bit up on the bottom, so that added about 1/3 an inch. He gets in and out fine. My smaller younger cat has not problem as well. The large chocolate labs...wonder what the big deal was and think I wasted my time and money :) Install was easy. The door is hollow-core and with a jigsaw, it took 20 mins to draw out, cut, and screw on the frame. Very easy.

I absolutely love this cat door. My husband and I installed it together but we forgot to mark where the bottom of the door was...luckily for us it was an old door that previously had a slide lock on so we figured out the bottom from the little holes left from that. Yes, it is easy to mix up top and bottom of door so don't forget to at least mark it with a pencil. Pretty straight forward easy install. I was worried my chonky 15 pound girl wouldn't fit but yes she uses it just fine, she likes to peek out and watch what is going on. Keeps dog out of the cat room and gives them a quiet place to be if they wish.

Now we have a household where our cats are on the heavier side. Our heaviest being 18-19 pounds last time we weighed him, but honestly it's been so long I wouldn't be surprised if he's 20 pounds. Now reading through the Q/As and the reviews, there was honestly a lot of mixed results of if this really would work for cats on the heftier side. Well, took a chance, and it has completely paid off! There has been one door in the house that eventually leads to the catbox, so it could never be closed, and the person whose room it was could never get any privacy because the moment they would be settled down to sleep, somecat (usually mine... XP) would throw the door wide open. Ever since installing this cat door, the door can be open, closed, it doesn't matter, because all four of our cats can get through. It has been a lifesaver and has reduced stress in our household. As for our 20 pound cat, we have the brush attachment put in place, and he just flops on the ground and scrambles on through no problem when he's in a hurry! (I've seen him scurry on through without flopping, but if he's in a hurry, flopping and scrambling it is!) Others just run through. And if you find that your cats can't get through, the brush attachment can be removed, so no worries! If you have a similar problem, then this the thing for you! Hope this helped!

We purchased this product for our 3 cats. This product is easy to install and it fits perfectly into the door width. It looks very nice, when installed, not bulky. The brush is removable, so we have removed to have a bigger opening. It is decent size.
