If you have boney thin fingers should you get the smaller size?

I bought the small gloves. They are not especially tight. I love these gloves. The size depends more on your finger length I am thinking. These are the right length for me. I could not have fit in an extra small. I have relatively long fingers but not a big hand. I hope this helps.

Are the gloves washable?

Yes you can wash these gloves, for longevity it’s advised to hand wash with soap & air dry. You can machine wash in cold water, and machine dry on low-medium heat.

will it grip the the end of the weights on a dumb bell?

Yes. I use them in the gym to grip the weights all the time
