Just used this for a workout and first impression is it seems sturdy and has great grip for slams. I was worried the 10 pound ball would feel too light but it surprisingly felt heavier than I imagined - not overly heavy, just right more mobility based workouts.

I never heard of this form of exercise until my son-in-law (whose an athlete), showed me how an older woman, (which I am) could get in better shape with minimum effort, almost! I'm lazier in my 'older age' but needed to get moving, so I looked up exercises involving these slam balls. He had a 20lb. ball, I started with this 10lb. ball, ended up with a 5lb. ball (will work up to the 10lb.), and have found an easy way to work my overall core and arms etc. Oh, it takes a little effort, but i can do that! The quality of these balls is fantastic. I'm honestly enjoying the workout, and for me, that's saying a lot.

Really great quality slam-style medicine ball. Thick rubber, and the textured grips help when your hands are sweaty. It’s a deadweight style, meaning it hits the ground and stays there; it doesn’t bounce back up. Extremely satisfying to slam this thing down and release pent-up frustration. Plus you get a full-body workout. I’m a petite gal and got the 10-lb ball. It’s perfect. An additional bonus is that this ball does NOT scratch up the hardwood-style laminate floor in my home gym.

I received the slam ball yesterday and demonstrated a “slam” for my husband. I knew immediately that I would be returning the ball because the surface texture is very rough and irritated my hands. This may not be a problem for some but for me it was a no go. Otherwise, the slam itself was great!😄
