My sugar free gummies ever
These sweet fish are so good. They have become my favorite treat but they are way too expensive for what you get. If you really want or need sugar free and have extra cash laying around definitely buy these treats. They’re yummy. Amazon subscribe and save together with four other items is the most economical way to justify purchasing these treats I’ve seen them in the grocery store for around $3.00 for one Individual package. The box includes 12.

Fish candy that is better for you
I got these as a Candy alternative. These are a 1.8oz bag that only has 3g of sugar. I was surprised to learn that these fishes also have 13g of dietary fiber. Compared to other brands this is a win. These came so soft and you could tell they were fresh (not hard at all). I got a good amount in the bag for only 100 calories which for a snack is great. NOTE: These do not taste anywhere close to as sweet as normal fish so you do have to get use to the taste but I do not think it’s bad at all. Price is a little higher but is comparable to other places you can buy them. Don’t forget that this brand is also FEMALE FOUNDED!!!!!!

so good, but old recipe only
the old recipe is by far superior. with the old recipe the taste and texture are additively delicious. the new recipe tastes horrid, they are dry, hard, and tasteless. dont know if it was a bad batch or what. once the old recipe runs out, will not buy any longer. quite expensive for the quantity, but worth it from time to time as a treat. they should work on lowering the price point, perhaps more per pack instead of all these tiny packs with 10 or so pieces.

The taste is good, but the quality control is an absolute joke
This is a review for the 2.0 version of Smart Sweets Sweet Fish. If you get the version that contains prebiotic soluble fiber, it is this version. Otherwise, you’ll be getting the newer 3.0 version, containing Allulose, which has a worse taste and texture. Amazon currently sells the superior 2.0 version, but this eventually might be replaced by the inferior 3.0 version. I bought some of the newer version at a local store, and almost returned them they were so bad. The only reason I didn’t return them, was because of the current “no food return” policy at the store, because of what is happening in the world right now. So I went to Amazon to buy the older version. The taste of these is quite good, but the biggest complaint that I have is the quality control. I just opened up a bag of them that contained only six fish, whereas other bags in the same box contain 12 or more fish. The quality control of this company’s product is horrendous! The price is already very high, and then to have each bag possibly have less than half of the quantity that it should have? Ridiculous.

I’m so sad about the “new and improved” version
I used to eat a bag of these every night after dinner. They were pricey, but for me it was worth it because they were a healthier alternative to the real fish and satisfied my sweet tooth. I ordered them by the box on Amazon often and purchased a weekly supply every time I was the grocery store just so I wouldn’t run out. The “new and improved” version is absolutely garbage. I emailed the company to ask why they made the change and received an answer about extensive research and testing (eye roll). They are hard, sour, sticky and have a foul chemical aftertaste. The new fish shape is cuter, however. I’ll give them credit for that - but I’d take the old shape back any day to have the old formula back. Kind of wondering if they got a cease and desist from the real fish maker. I got curious and filtered the reviews to most recent to see if anyone else felt the same or if I was alone and truly missing the mark on the “new and improved” version. It’s slightly comforting to see I’m not alone. I think I’ll send a follow up email to the company to see if they’ve noticed how many people are unhappy with the change. Maybe they’ll go back to the “old and unimproved” version! Until then, I’ve switched to the Lily’s brand gummy bears. I don’t like them as much, but they are better than Smart Sweets bears and my beloved are now inedible.

Yummy
Yum! I love these things. Tastes as good as a Swedish fish candy, but sticky. A great low sugar option

Some of the fish are very hard, while other are soft, inconsisten quanity in bags
So first of all these are NOT Swedish Fish, these are Gummy Fish. The flavor isn't bad, but it's not the same as Swedish Fish. I have had some issues with this product though. First of all the quantity of fish is not consistent bag to bag. Plus, and probably the biggest issue, is even though the packages are sealed many of the fish are hard as a rock, yet some others are still soft. If they were exposed to air I would expect them all to be the same consistency, so my uneducated assumption is that it has to do with the manufacturing process. Even though they say they are Sugar Free they do spike my blood sugar, though not enough to freak me out. Thankfully my body and my medications combat the spike it's something I am aware of and make choice to limit how often I have these. As much as I wanted to love these I won't be ordering any more.
