I run a physical therapy clinic and bought a few Day 1 Fitness products for the clinic after another therapist recommended it (plus the solid price ow ow!). I really like this medicine ball compared to the old ones we had. The dual texture is my favorite part. The black pattern has finger tip size dimples (like a golf ball) while the colored portion has small little bumps (like a basketball) making it very easy to grip. I work with a variety of patients and almost all of them say something about the grip no matter what size hands or how sweaty they get. The excellent grip really allows for solid control during exercise. More control = less chance for injury... which I'm all about!!! Also this ball will have a some bounce back to it. So with that, I use it a lot with my athletes to work on explosive power as well reaction speed. I use this ball pretty regularly throughout an 8hrs/day 5days/wk and it's built to last. Definitely happy with the product and plan to buy more at different weights so I have a bigger variety to work with.

So far no dislikes, just fresh joints and new muscle. With so many options I decided to give this medicine ball a try and so far its been perfect. The ball has a good grip design & makes it easy to hold. mine is odor free no strong scent, I've gotten to use it quite a bit and it has held up great, no splits or cracks rubber is still grippy. I mainly use it for stretching and upper body. But you could use this for so much more. So stop searching around and ad to cart. I recommend thanks

I have had the ball for about six months. New to using a medicine ball but enjoyed using it while it lasted. The ball almost split in two. Upon looking at the ball after it split I noted that it must have deflated without me noticing it. I will get another ball for the workouts I do but recommend making sure it is inflated before you use it. Which is difficult since it is by design a firm ball.

This product is of very good quality. The ball is attractive and easy to grasp - it's much easier to handle than my $89.00 ball. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the smell, oh, the smell of rubber is overwhelming. When I'm working my abs on the floor mat I have to stop and take a breather - not because the workout kicked my fanny, but because the smell of the ball is just too overwhelming. Well, you get my point. Great quality, easy to handle, attractive, but nauseating smell that has faded a bit with usage. I recommend, but be prepared to give it a nice wash prior to use.

The medicine ball took a long time to arrive and it also came concave in and flattened but the package was not damaged at all. Disappointing.6/22 - Update! Adjusted from a 1 star to a 4. I received a replacement product and it is perfect. No damages and the order came within a few days after my return request. I really like the surface area of the ball and it is easy to grip. Happy with the product!

I purchased this Day 1 Fitness 16 lb ball (grey) to start building my home gym, and to bring into the clinic (physical therapist) for high level patients of mine. I've used it in two ways so far - plyometrics and lifting/calisthenics. For plyometrics I've loved how the textured design allows for good grip (hence the headline!). I may have been a little over-ambitious going with the 16 lb ball for this, but maybe it'll give me a backhand like Novak Djokovic...maybe. Core and tennis workouts have been awesome. I also use it in my clinic for pushups and adding weight to other movements like squats, lunges, etc. Great bounce, great grip, great durability, GREAT PRODUCT - just add some intensity you're golden.

I used many medicine balls before and can't say there is much difference. This one seems really sturdy/durable and has a very nice grip to it. Shipped quickly and there were no issues with the condition of the package or product when it arrived - which seems to be a common issue with a lot of gym equipment from the many reviews I've read. As a result, I've also purchased other items (hex bar, T-row platform) from this provider - Day 1 Fitness - and have been very pleased with their service. They will be my go-to gym equipment provider going forward.

I have become a real fan of medicine balls in the past few years. They can take simple activities to another level and help provide tone and strengthening all at once. My 10 and 12 pound medicine balls were too difficult to hold between my legs, but this little baby was small enough and yet heavy enough to give the right balance of both. Its exterior is tacky enough to hold in place whether I'm wearing shorts or sweat pants and its not too rigid, so I can squeeze it as well. Some medicine balls are just too rigid despite their soft exterior appearance. Buy with confidence!

This is an excellent product. The only issue is a slight off gas smell. It took a month or two for that to dissipate.

I really like this fitness ball. The surface is just right for a good grip on my hands for exercise. There is no rubber smells, no sticky surface at all. The color is good as well, even with the sweaty hands, is doesn't leave any color on my hands after the workout. This is even higher quality that the one that I used before at the public gym.

Ball came in great shape and inflated weighong close to 8lbs. Shippkng was slow.

Exactly as I needed, what more should I say? It's a ball.

I have MS and have to exercise in different ways now. This is a great weight and the textured surface is perfect for my hands which can feel slippery.
